DevOps & infrastructure — contract / consulting (26 yrs, NixOS specialist)

Location: South Carolina, USA (Eastern time) Remote: Yes Willing to relocate: No

Technologies: NixOS, Incus (clusters), Docker, Linux, PostgreSQL, Rust, CI/CD, reverse proxies / TLS / tunnels / caching; cloud or on-prem

Contact: https://github.com/kixago

26 years building and running infrastructure. I handle the DevOps and the hosting layer: provisioning, deployment, networking, reverse proxying, TLS, the pipeline, on whatever it runs on, cloud or your own hardware. NixOS is my specialty, so what I hand over is declarative and rolls back cleanly instead of becoming shell scripts nobody can rebuild. US East Coast, responsive, and I'd rather show you working infrastructure than list twenty buzzwords I touched once.

Good fits: cloud or self-hosted infrastructure that needs setting up right and staying maintainable, NixOS / reproducible-infra work, or an ops mess that needs someone who's seen it before.

Location: NM, USA

Remote: Yes (strongly preferred); open to hybrid/onsite for the right role

Willing to relocate: Yes, for the right role (US or Canada)

Technologies: LLM agents, MCP (Model Context Protocol), Anthropic & OpenAI APIs, agentic systems, n8n, Python / SQL / TypeScript / Go (AI-assisted), FastAPI, PostgreSQL/SQLite, Docker, Linux, Traefik, Netbird, Proxmox, self-hosted production systems, HL7/EMR/clinical-data integration, serial + IP device integration, Jira, Zendesk, enterprise onboarding & technical discovery

Resume: Available on request (email me)

Technical Project/Program Manager and builder-operator. 10+ years remote, leading end-to-end delivery of complex enterprise SaaS. Currently TPM at a healthcare-data platform: I own one product line from kickoff through scoping, configuration, go-live, and long-term support, and I'm the primary customer-facing technical contact throughout. Previously rolled out an EMR platform to hundreds of physicians across nine countries, on time and on budget.

Over the last two years, I've gone deeper on the build side: designing, shipping, and operating LLM agent systems and automation pipelines end to end. That means production FastAPI services, n8n workflows, MCP tools, and the self-hosted infrastructure I run underneath them.

It's why I'm aiming at two role shapes:

1. Technical Program/Product Manager at a SaaS company.

2. Forward Deployed / Solutions / Implementation Engineer at an AI or developer-tools company, embedded with enterprise customers, building POCs, and debugging the integrations that decide whether a deployment sticks.

Strongest where the product meets messy reality: regulated/enterprise contexts (healthcare data interop, HL7, clinical workflows), async-first written communication, and turning vague customer requirements into stable, production-grade systems. I'd rather run a demo than write a status deck.

Experienced engineer\infra-devops\team lead with 20 years of working in small teams and startups. Cover many bases in a small team. Looking for product\platform-related work (not consultancy-style projects) with long term ownership. Tend to prefer deep IC contributions with some team leading responsibilities - prefer to stay hands-on 70/30 split :)
