I'm not actively looking (hence why my resume link is obfuscated like that) but I'm at least interested in getting a feel for the market right now. That said, I'm willing to consider a position with a great fit for my skill set and career goals.

Here's my pitch: I have experience in a multitude of industries and positions. From improving legacy infra and processes in an established telco company to scaling a fast-moving startup from 200K to 2M users. In my free time, I love writing Code That Is Poetry but day-to-day I am not an idealist engineer who doesn't compromise. Well-engineered code is clean and correct but correct above all else.

Oh, also, I'm great at writing documentation. I consider myself introverted but apparently my communication skills are above average for Software Engineers. I also pride myself on my humility and modesty. :V

I'm currently a backend engineer developing features and improving infra for an online game with millions of daily active users. I'd love to explore other technical positions in the games industry short of joining a AAA studio because (a) I don't want to crunch and (b) my skill set does not lay that way; other tech-creative industries would also appeal to me! Rebuilt property search at Driven | Forbes Global Properties. Filtering returned wrong results; traced it to competing sources of truth between location path segments and query refinements, replaced both with a single contract, and rebuilt the URL hierarchy to map city → area → community → building. Organic sessions to search pages rose 7%, core listing pages moved up two pages in Google within a month.

Built Complytude, a multi-tenant legal compliance SaaS. Tenant isolation enforced in Postgres via row-level security with tenant-scoped session context, so it doesn't depend on application code remembering to filter. Event-driven RAG pipeline on BullMQ + Redis.

Also set the founding architecture for an ERP platform sold as SaaS, then hired and led the four engineers who built it. AWS Certified Solutions Architect. Native Arabic.

Software engineer with 3+ years of experience across startups, increasingly working on databases, systems, and infrastructure.

I previously cofounded Mars Computers, where I built a low-latency remote desktop system with a custom video streaming pipeline in Rust and worked across networking, OS primitives, and bare-metal infrastructure. I've also built production backend systems involving real-time financial data, PostgreSQL, Redis, WebSockets, and async processing.

More recently, I've been working on database internals and systems: contributing to SlateDB (a Rust LSM-tree storage engine), experimenting with PostgreSQL/Linux I/O and tail latency, and building database tooling.

I am a seasoned C++ developer with 23 years of experience in the industry. I have experience in Desktop, Embedded and Mobile development. I also did some back-end work and even some reverse engineering, though that was a while ago. I also have some ML experience (PyTorch) - also a while ago, but not that much. Most recently I've been doing 3D graphics (simulation and later maps). My Linear Algebra is quite decent - I use it regularly.

My preferred next career move is independent contracting. 6-12 months contracts ideally. I will also consider permanent fully remote positions, but only quite senior ones - Staff Engineer / Architect level.

I've been fully remote since 2018 and I intend to keep it that way.
