Monograph | Senior Data Engineer | Full-time, REMOTE in US

We do 4-day (32 hour) work weeks at Monograph, and we've been doing it for 3 years now. I believe we're one of the only companies in SV that are advocates for working less, but more productively.

To learn more about our engineering culture check out our recently updated Key Values profile: https://www.keyvalues.com/monograph (Lynne is a good friend!)

We're currently looking for a senior data engineer to help architect and build process around our data pipelines. We have the fundamentals setup (event schemas, Big Query warehouse, etc), but we're hitting the scale where we each team at Monograph needs more data to help them make informed decisions. You will come in and own data with the budget to hire full-time folks and consultants to help build out our data team.

If you're interested in the built environment (architecture) that's a huge plus!

Reach out directly to me (head of engineering) and mention the HN post: moe at monograph dot com

Reviewable | UX Engineer | Remote (US preferred) | Full time | https://reviewable.io

Reviewable is a web app that makes code reviews of PRs more efficient and thorough -- think "Google Critique for GitHub". We're bootstrapped and growing, especially in the enterprise space, but this is not a VC rocketship. We're a tiny team that takes pride in shipping quickly while building a codebase that we actually enjoy working in.

We're looking to hire a mid-level UX Engineer: someone with a strong intuition for how to design a great user experience, but who is also comfortable with writing code to implement their design. You might be a front-end engineer with an untapped passion for UX, or maybe a UX specialist taking their first steps into development. We're pretty open-minded on the details but you do need to be able to improve on our current UI and workflow!

Our frontend tech stack is JS, Vue 2, Firebase RTDB, and custom libraries, so we don't really care what technology you're already familiar with since you'll need to pick up new stuff anyway. The one hard requirement is that you must have excellent written communication skills. After an initial chat or two we vet promising candidates via a short (paid) contract where we work together on a new feature and get it launched.

Anyway, I'm the founder -- ping me at piotr@reviewable.io if you think this might be a good fit!

OpenDrives | Linux Dev / QA Lead / QA Junior / Full Stack Dev | Los Angeles and REMOTE (USA)

OpenDrives makes Network Attached Storage devices and more.

Platform - Debian, Python 3, Bash Backend - Node, Express, Passport, Cote Frontend - React, Redux Saga, Bulma

What's the engineering culture?

Empowerment - Bring your talent and voice to the team.
Effectiveness - You know how you work best. Pick the right tools. Work Iteratively. Ship it.
Empathy - Nobody is a robot, take care of yourself, and each other.
Why should you work here?

Awesome vacation policy and flexible work schedule
Great Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
Hybrid Remote/Office work (even before the pandemic)
Work with Modern Tools and Nate!
    Opportunity for Stock Options
Salary Range is posted on our job listings!

Doing data storage can sound about as exciting as telling people you make refrigerators for a living. It's actually very similar, because a fridge keeps your food safe, ready, and available, and our data storage does the same thing for your data. But we get to tool around with the basics of a computer system (system threads, network stuff, filesystem stuff) and get REALLY into the details. We're looking at how we can start not only thinking about the 'Fridge' in the loop, but the entire 'Kitchen' that people care about. People use our product on a daily basis, and everything we do gets shipped into our customer's hands. So there's a big chance to make a positive impact here.

That's my pitch for you on why you should apply. GOTO -> https://opendrives.com/careers/

Thanks!

TainData | Melbourne, Australia | Contract, Full-Time or Co-Founder | Remote OK, Onsite OK, Visa possible (pending Australia's border restrictions lifting)

We're a vendor of data monitoring and automation technology for small-to-medium sized agriculturalists - mostly growers of wine grapes, fruits, vegetables, grains, pulses, etc. We’ve supplied technology to some of the world's leading food and wine producers.

Our main products are:

- A data monitor that reads soil moisture and other environmental metrics, and uploads data to the cloud via Cat-M1, and a partner web app that displays data on maps+graphs and manages the devices. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/versatile-data-logger-help-gr...

- A webapp that displays data from a network of 70+ weather stations across some major growing regions of Australia, and displays weather data updated every 10 minutes and long-term historical graphs https://cotl.com.au/launch.html

We're looking for people with the following skills:

- Electronics engineering - designing circuits and circuit boards for IoT data monitoring/control applications, using Freescale microcontrollers or comparable components. Experience with contemporary cellular data networks (Cat M1, NB-IoT) very welcome, as well as other radio data technologies, e.g., LoraWAN, DigiMesh, ZigBee, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi.

- Programming for above hardware platforms, ideally very experienced with C, but familiarity with (or enthusiasm to learn) Freescale/Motorola assembly language a big advantage.

- Full stack web application development, with experience with/willingness to learn Ruby on Rails, React, React Native.

- Machine learning/image processing specialists.

This would be particularly interesting to someone who wants to go deep developing a new hardware/firmware architecture for this industry; something like what Cisco IOS is to networking, but for agriculture data monitoring/control.

Super.mx | Senior elixir, ruby-to-elixir engineer, design systems engineer | REMOTE or Mexico City

At Súper we help millions of Latin Americans get insurance for the first time, so that they have some resiliency in their life when things go sideways.

We have an amazing engineering team with two very heavy hitters on including @malafortune and @bruce

We are looking for three very specific skillsets to compliment our team:

1. A fast-shipping elixir or ruby -> elixir engineer.

You have deep MVC experience in one of these two languages, and probably some early stage startup experience. You like shipping e2e features FAST.

2. Senior elixir engineer.

You are very experienced with Phoenix and have used it to build large projects in production. You are opinionated about contexts.

3. Design systems engineer.

Make our site consistent, beautiful and accessible, with an emphasis on improving the developer experience for the rest of the team. You're a CSS wizard.
