Location: Romania

Remote: yes

Willing to relocate: not in the next year or so (toddler duty), but open in principle and available to travel frequently in Europe

Technologies: Python, JS, Rust, Bash, DevOps, Linux, embedded C, PyTorch, electronics and robotics, transport and parking infrastructure and technology, navigating political bureaucracies

Resume: http://www.linkedin.com/in/p918345638147

email: mres at gmx.com

I am looking to return to technology after an 8 year stint into public service and political office. An engineer by formation, I am a very broad generalist, taking interest into various technical fields as well as social sciences - hence my venture into politics. I have managed transport infrastructure projects for my public sector employers but I also know my way around a git command line and a large codebase written in a dozen languages.

I am particularly interested in fast-moving startups that can benefit from my broad skill set. I am ready to get hands-on and handle any development and engineering tasks to support growth. Ideally, I would like to manage a team of like-minded engineers eager to make an impact.

I am available to work through my own company as a business-to-business contractor, handling my own taxes, etc., if that is beneficial, for example, to a US-based company.

I'm graduating with a Master's degree in Computer Science at the end of September and am looking for a SWE role to start around then or later. I've been programming long before university and worked as a part-time developer for a year during high school. My GitHub (https://github.com/timakro) features several projects that are actively used and contributed to by others. For many years, I've contributed to https://github.com/ddnet/ddnet, where I learned to work on a large code base with a team.

Hi, I'm Ian (they/them) and I am an SRE with 25+ years of experience of managing infrastructure, developing software, and providing leadership. I enjoy solving problems, mentoring people, and helping the business accomplish its goals. I've managed teams up to 12 people, and strive to lead by example.

I'm looking for a staff/principal level role where I can contribute to the development, as well as provide leadership to others on the team. My biggest strengths are in the monitoring/alerting/incident management area, as well as IaC/configuration management. Currently I'm working on an open-source messageboard that runs on tailscale networks written in Go w/PostgreSQL as the backend.

For 5 years, i've maintained a side-hobby as a first responder for a ski patrol during the US winter, and with that comes some time required to patrol, instruct new patrollers, and maintain my own certifications. This has given me an edge on creating/augmenting incident management processes within startups many times over the past few years.
