I'm a technical generalist coming most recently from infectious disease modeling. I'm casting a wide net as I eye a return to work after two years of parenthood. I'm quite willing to learn new mathematical tools, programming languages, frameworks, etc. from scratch.

I'm excited about working in climate tech, biology, politics, software enabling users to control their data (e.g., via offline/local-first models), a modern revival of the HyperCard ethos of software development, or any combination thereof.

I started as a HyperCard kid, did Mac OS X/Cocoa stuff in the early '00s, learned some things about complex systems modeling, got a Ph.D. in ecology & evolutionary biology, and have been working as a consultant for academics since then.

Spent the last few years teaching visual artists how to market and sell their art. I was able to get the sales and marketing engines of the business humming smoothly but making service delivery repeatable has me stumped. In 2021 and 2022 I did $1.1M in sales from a little over $500k in ad spend. All bootstrapped.

I'm looking to join a team that I gel well with and who have a mission I care about. The best fit roles for me would be in marketing or sales.

I've done 1,000's of sales calls with ACVs between $2k and $10k. I've built direct response VSL and webinar funnels, (copywriting, web dev, video production) that have generated 7 figures of revenue. I've built marketing sites with gatsbyjs and tailwind. I've built fullstack software applications with React and Rails.

Today though, I don't want to spend most of my time behind a screen. Today, I'm interested in podcasting, event based marketing, and relationship based sales. I would like to ultimately land somewhere with a face to face company culture that is either hybrid or in person.

Hello HN, I am graduating in a few months, last summer I was an SWE intern at Google before that I did a Google Summer of Code with the LLVM foundation working on the inter-procedural optimizations. I enjoy taking on deeply technical challenges. Although I have more professional experience towards low level programming. I enjoy experimenting with Deep Learning in my spare time. I am also very interested to learn more about finance when I have time.

About me: Spent 2 years at Oracle working on the PL/SQL comipler team, this included: requirements gathering with end-users for new language features / types, design, and implementation. Networking code for client-server and sharded models. Prototype of ML model to detect transactions with high risk of bugs.

I have spent the past 2 years in academia (Brown University) and I'm looking to transition to an industry position. My research has been focused on data simulation (for theoretical model validation and data augmentation), and novel deep learning methods for classification, segmentation, and generative tasks.

Freshly minted PhD (electrical engineering), with research on adaptive fault-tolerant control using reinforcement learning. Basically, making machine learning data-efficient so it can adapt faster. I am looking for research/applied science roles this Fall. Mainly, my past work was on drones and smart buildings.
