Character is an AI startup that is making the science-fiction dream of talking to computers a reality.
We’re building the next generation of open-ended dialog agents with applications spanning entertainment, education, general question-answering and a long-tail of other potential applications.
This requires solving extremely ambitious technical challenges, and we are assembling a world-class team to do so. Our founding team includes AI pioneers from Google Brain and Facebook AI Research whose research has enabled breakthroughs in natural language understanding and dialog applications such as Transformers (Noam Shazeer) and LaMDA (Daniel de Freitas).
We are hiring for engineering roles, including:
Front-end Engineering. We are building the future of how people interact with computers, and we’re looking for people who are genuinely excited about making natural language interfaces a reality.
- You will be leading the front-end development effort.
- Expertise with JS frameworks and libraries like React Native.
- Experience with UI/UX design and rapidly iterating based on user feedback.
Data Engineering. Data is the lifeblood of our effort, and all of our machine learning engineers are closely involved in data collection.
- We’re looking for imaginative and savvy engineers with a passion for collecting and organizing data.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets using distributed databases and systems (e.g. Apache Beam).
- Experience implementing ETL pipelines, data collection, data curation, and filtering.
