We are a team of engineers and energy experts working to get our customers paid for using less energy. Our customers are energy consumers (factories, skyscrapers, warehouses, steel mills...) who will commit to curtailing their demand on a signal from us. We aggregate those "curtailable" buildings into virtual power plants that we sell to utilities and other buyers in wholesale energy markets, splitting the revenue with our customers. Our virtual power plants are cleaner and cheaper than the coal and oil plants they replace.

Along the way we have to solve some hard problems:

  - trade energy in an international patchwork of wholesale power markets
  - convince a wide variety of factory foreman and building managers to cease their operations when they would really rather not
  - make hundreds of commercial and industrial buildings behave like a single, reliable generator in every way

I'm looking for a front-end engineer to be a reliable, capable contributor to this team’s mission. You will own the design and implementation of major end-to-end features. You will also be a part of a community of SDEs and FEEs, where there is a strong spirit of collaboration and support. You will regularly work with fellow engineers, designers, product managers, and engineering leaders. This role necessitates a comfort-level with ambiguity and a desire to create, iterate and improve.

2+ years professional experience in large-scale front-end software development required. This is fully remote for now, but we'll eventually snap to Amazon's on-site policy, which will most likely involve some hybrid working model. Team is centered in New York City.

Apply to join the Channels & Fulfillment team at Square. We are helping many traditionally in-person sellers succeed with moving parts of their businesses online. The two forms this is taking right now:

- Make it ridiculously easy to list your products across many channels/marketplaces (e.g. have your product start appearing in the Google Shopping search tab)

- Expand Square's common fulfillment APIs to simplify the "behind the scenes" operational part of what happens after they receive orders and need to execute on these contracts

We're already seeing a lot of success, and it's been really rewarding to help these businesses. This is a massive project, and most of work is in a new Go / Golang codebase hosted with the help of Redis, Kubernetes, and AWS.
