I'm a senior level dev looking at the senior role, but it says 2-3 years of python experience at minimum. I don't have that, so I thought I'd look at the mid-level role which says "3-6 years developing database-driven web applications with (preferably) Python" but then "candidates without Python experience may still be considered if they have experience with similar tech." It's a good question and I should update those sections to make Python a harder requirement.
We've tried to be flexible historically but found that we really need folks who are fluent in Python because our skills tests all use Python and we need devs to hit the ground running on day 1 and all our projects are in Python.
I did recently hire a dev whose Python is a bit rusty but who made it through the skills tests. But, for the most part, devs without solid and recent Python experience aren't getting through our skills tests.
