Hello!

I am a senior full-stack developer with over 5 years of experience building applications for the United States weather service (NOAA, NWS, OHD, NOMADS, etc.), Minnesota schools, and non-profit organizations. I started out building front-end apps and grew to love the back-end/cloud as well (it is so nice to write database/API/CMS/cloud helper programs quickly in Node, Python, Go, C++, etc.!). My most involved project was working across the stack on a hole-in-one application for the weather service that consolidates a suite of old applications. I am flexible and love wearing many hats of technologies & procedures. My previous work comrades always described me as high-spirited, excited, and always amped to take on challenging tickets (for example: I built a node.js helper application to migrate 10,000+ vanilla JS/HTML web pages to a tricky CMS).

I'm all sparkles when it comes to full-stack development! I am actively looking for remote full-time or contract work. While that for loop is running, I am deep diving into new tech/AI && full stack projects, such as the Stone King Wiki, Magic: The Gathering Assistant v2, and a touch-focused app similar to what Hans Zimmer uses as the primary console for extending his music composition capabilities.

For the last 10 years I have been working primarily for companies building tools for developers involved with large HTTP APIs (Apiary, Stoplight to name a few). Some of the open source tools you currently use when dealing with OpenAPI might have been written by me.

Currently I work as API Architect where I help design and ship big APIs, work in internal tools and help with the giant API Gateway that serves billions of requests per day and coordinates the various services for ${bit-company}

I can help in architecting very big systems, on the cloud or not, building tools for internal and external developer productivity and I am particularly good when thrown in codebases with a lot of technical debt and bring them back on a path to excellence.

With more than 10 years of software development experience, I have developed a strong foundation in cyber-security, web development, machine learning, and cryptocurrency/blockchain. My background in Astronomy and Astrophysics (H. BSc and MSc) has provided me with strong analytical, mathematical, programming, and communication skills.

In the cyber-security domain, I have spent four years mastering Golang, PostgreSQL, Grafana, and GitHub Actions. At Arctic Wolf, I was a team lead for the past two years, where I managed five developers. I guided the team on a modularization project of our end-point Agent, and where I managed the biannual release cycle of our software. My back-end web development experience spans five years, where I have worked with Node.js/PHP/Golang, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, and Docker/Docker-Compose. I also have more than a decade of experience in scientific programming, using FORTRAN, C/C++, Python and Bash.

Some of the work I am most proud of includes the parallelization of the SWIFT numerical integrator, a ML document classifier for OCR text, my contributions to the Bitcoin code base, and my entry in the 2016 Halite AI Challenge where I ranked in the top 3%. Outside of my professional career, I am passionate about pushing the boundaries of my personal projects. Currently, I am building a high-altitude balloon equipped with a Raspberry Pi and an Arduino. I also enjoy crafting rogue-like video games, blending creativity with interesting game mechanics. For a glimpse of my work, visit: github.com/ccapo

Hello, I'm a skilled developer with nine years of professional experience creating web and desktop applications. My focus has been on back-end, but I have many years of full stack experience and am very familiar with front end as well. My skills in Rust are great and I've worked on several high-performance systems and networking projects. I'm looking for positions with either language or both! I'm more focused on finding a team & company that foster innovation and healthy culture. Feel free to get in touch!

I've been using Go as my primary language for the last seven years, although I don't overly care about the specific language and have experience with a wide variety of tools and languages such as Python, Ruby, PHP, C, JavaScript, Lua, and probably some more. While I've mainly focused on backend in the last few years, I also have written plenty of frontend code over the years, from the "pre-jQuery" days to VueJS.

In the last few years I mainly focused on GoatCounter (https://www.goatcounter.com) with the occasional contract job, but I'm keen to start working on something new for the longer term.

I've got quite a bit of code on my GitHub, so you can take a look at that if you want: https://github.com/arp242/

I am a senior software engineer recently working at Ginkgo Bioworks on data engineering and full stack development on strain sequence databases and metadata. I spent around 50% of my time working with lab teams to get their lab data into structured database and the other 50% working with the data science team and people across the company to develop actionable insights from the experiments that were run.

I am interested in applying LLMs and ML to applications to improve the user experience and integrating them into the software development lifecycle. I also get obsessed with company OKRs/KPIs and metrics for tracking success.
