Looking for a job in software engineering or research, preferably with focus on ML / scientific computing, since that's what I consider myself good at. I am a regular contributor to open source projects (nicholasjng on GitHub), notably in benchmarking (google/benchmark and aai-institute/nnbench), scientific computing (JAX) and PythonC++ interop (nanobind). Ideally, in my next role I want to pick up more Rust, solidify my C++ knowledge, and also work on compiler tech including, but not limited to ML compilers like MLIR, XLA, and Triton. Merged my first MLIR PR a few weeks back, hopefully more to come soon.

I’ve been in tech for over 15 years, worked on everything from telecom infrastructure to backend and DevOps for high-load systems. After serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, I’m now fully focused on getting back into tech and contributing long-term. I value straightforward communication, reliability, and solving hard problems.

Senior software engineer with 8+ years building and scaling backend systems. Led teams of 4–6 engineers, migrated large monoliths to Go-based microservices, and designed APIs, distributed systems, and AI-integrated workflows (including LLM/RAG systems) that saved millions in costs. Experience spans enterprise environments and high-traffic consumer platforms. Focused on performance, reliability, and observability in cloud-native systems.

Ideally looking for backend/distributed systems roles with Go as a primary language.

I'm a full-stack developer with 7+ years of experience in startups trenches.

Here are the biggest projects I've worked on + a single feature that demonstrates my impact on product and/or technical chops :

Fanfest – fanfest.vip - Community engagement platform for soccer fans. Built a browser-based live streaming engine that lets streamers broadcast directly from their browsers in both 16:9 and 9:16 at 1080p (and lower resolutions), with simultaneous streaming to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, and X.com.

Pequity – pequity.com - Compensation management platform for mid-to-large organizations. Built V2 for offer approval chains, reducing complexity and fixing HUGE performance issues. For example, in the worst case scenarion in V1 for a single request it would take 2 minutes to finish. In V2 it's 970ms.

Haekka – haekka.com - Security and compliance training integrated with workplace tools. Developed a system for automatically assigning users training based on non-compliant events like exporting sensitive keys they did in AWS/Slack/Gmail.

Flox – flox.app - App facilitating social connections by helping friend groups meet. Used Postgis to build an algorithm for auto check-in system for event attendance.

My work flow these days looks like this - 50% of time planning and finalising exactly what the requirements are, generating a requirement doc which includes user requirements, our performance budget (https://addyosmani.com/blog/performance-budgets/), how to test it (locally husky or on ci/cd or both) e.t.c performance test and non functional requirements - then 10-15% of the time is spent on Implementation planning and communication with team - The main code implementation , I just tell my friend claude to do it :) - Then my work starts reviewing the the code written by my friend. then comes deploying and monitoring work the Final Boss AWS :P.

dont worry most of these works are done by my besties CKCC Chat GPT, Kiro, Cursor and Claude Code

My formal introduction:

Full Stack Engineer with 5+ years of experience building fast, scalable apps using React, Next.js, and Node.js. I emphasize production readiness with functional testing (Supertest/Jest/Playwright), performance testing (k6/Lighthouse/Networks), and database optimizations (Postgres indexing & queries). Experienced in Docker deployments and AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Fargate, CodePipeline), I design CI/CD workflows that ensure reliable, high performance systems. My metric driven approach helps startups ship polished products that behave predictably in production.

Open for Part Time roles $35/hour. Looking forward towards working with you.
