It's not clear, whether you're seeking "Remote (US)" only. "must be authorized to work in the US" could be read as "we're only open to working with people in the U.S.", or it could be read as just emphasizing the legal requirement that, if someone is in the U.S., they must be authorized to work there.

The "Windows Desktop App" position from DDG is quite infamous here.

I did my own DD and found it has appeared in Ask HN threads since at least May 2023.

Beginning to side with others stating this position was never meant to be filled but rather serve as some +ve market indicator about DDG

I've applied to Temporal several times. I would be a good fit, but I have yet to even get a recruiter screening. What does one have to do to get a fair shake?

Fake positions are the "kayfabe"[1] of HN's Who's Hiring.

They are a variation in the "Emperor's new clothes"[2]: everyone knows they're fake but no one should say it.

So, expect your comment to be removed. But thanks for doing it, anyway.

SmarterDx | 150-250k+ + equity + benefits | Remote (US only) | Multiple roles | https://smarterdx.com/careers We build clinical AI that empowers hospitals to analyze the complete record of every patient to fully capture the value of care delivered. Founded by physicians in 2020, our proprietary AI platform understands the nuances of clinical reasoning, enabling hospitals to true the patient record for every discharge…

It’s a bit sad that there’s nothing in this post about actually wanting to improve patient care, but instead make money for hospitals and “enhance metrics.”

American healthcare in a nutshell. All of these startups in the healthcare industry focusing on "upcoding", "dealing with insurance" would go bust if private health insurance no longer existed or at least existed in a much much smaller role.
