Hey, Jared here. I am an engineer who has a lot of experience working with Azure and the requisite Microsoft technologies. If you want to get to the cloud or have someone who can help you in the cloud I am your guy. I have worn a lot of hats from Tester to DevOps so I am truly comfortable as a full stack engineer. Right now I am obsessed with mastering Kubernetes and learning distributed systems.

I currently work as a (very recently promoted) Team Lead for a small team of engineers who work frontline support tickets and implement internal tools to help a small SaaS company manage its products. I've worked with most Azure technologies and C# is my best language.

I am truly at my best where I am up against a new problem I have no idea to solve, but I will figure it out.

Location: Seoul, Korea (currently) Remote: Yes / No Willing to relocate: Yes Technologies: Go (golang), node.js, Erlang/Elixir, Rust, Swift, Objective-C, C, C++, JavaScript, Cocoa, Win32, SwiftUI, iOS Network Extension, Ruby on Rails, Terraform, Vault, AWS, Packer, VPN, IPsec, IKEv2, WireGuard, OpenVPN, DNS, SMTP, IMAP, HTTP, QUIC, UDP, security, X.509, TLS Résumé/CV: https://amirmalik.net/resume Email: amir@amirmali…

How is it like working in Seoul? I see you are looking for remote job, but I am wondering if you are/were working onsite and if you have any insight to give someone interested in moving to Korea.

I've mostly consulted and worked with companies based outside of Korea, so I can't speak to onsite experience personally.

If you're wondering about work-life balance, in which Korea has a poor track record in general, it's going to vary wildly based on the team. The best is to try to get recruited from outside of Korea if you're looking to join a larger company. The startup scene is vibrant, too.

It's hard to give general advice without knowing your motivations, but feel free to drop me an email and I'll be happy to offer any advice :)

Summary: Looking for entry level work. 1 year of experience as Database Developer but also experience producing reports using Tableau. Achievements include developing new SSIS package schema focused on consolidating redundant processes, while trimming discrete packages to only contain tasks uniquely required for (sub)client specifications. Resulted in ~60% reduction in discrete package size allowing for changes/maintenance to be preformed with significantly less development time.
