I have 20 years of expertise in roles involving programming, system engineering and closely related tasks. I can do backend, frontend, data, ops, networking, etc; I find every domain has interesting problems that can be tackled with generalist skills and a broad knowledge base.

Currently I'm looking for a partnership, high-level IC role or full-time freelance gig, either near Amsterdam or remote.

Location: Tallinn, Estonia (Australian citizen)

Remote: Yes. Or local in Tallinn, or possibly local in other EU country if relocating. EU or Eastern US timezone.

Willing to relocate: Yes: Probably EU only, greatly enjoy living in nature more than inner-city

Technologies: Experienced product manager, currently at a large US-based corporate firm working as a senior PM for two companies it owns. I'd like to step back away from the corporate feeling. Focused primarily on IDEs and code tooling, with a focus on C++, but I enjoy all kinds of customer-facing products and they don't need to be high-tech: I like understanding customers, solving problems, and making great UIs that are genuinely usable (ones that are not just current, but also genuinely help people get their work done.) I'm no longer a professional programmer, but I have a long history as a developer before I became a PM and understand development well.

I prefer impactful technology. Currently the tools I manage are relied on by many worldwide, and I've worked before on tools used by scientists that helped drive eco-based political policy or climate change research among more. I would value any product and company that has a positive influence on the world. If you have a positive impact and culture, I will value your goals and can work very well to help you.

At work I have a strong drive to improve processes, teach and mentor, and ultimately of course deliver good products.

I love building, optimizing, and collaborating with enthusiastic, diverse, and inclusive teams. Recently deployed v4 of dbSpy (an open source dev tool for logical modeling of PostgreSQL and MySQL databases), making contributions across the Node.js/React.js tech stack with a focus on improving the frontend architecture, increasing testing, improving backend performance, and automating CI/CD.
