Lifelong hacker. This past year I earned my B.S. Computer Science and concluded a 20-year career in publishing (both traditional/paper and digital/online). Now I'm seeking work in software dev (of any kind), from entry to mid level. I enjoy crafting algorithms and squeezing performance out of loops and functions. My minor LeetCode claim to fame is having completed over 500 Easy and over 300 Medium algorithm problems. I enjoy solving puzzles and doing so with as few bytes and cycles as possible.

Happy to talk more via email or chat.

I am finishing my PhD (electrical engineering) in reinforcement- and transfer- learning. My research combines classical control theory with advances in artificial intelligence. I apply my work to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and smart buildings. Specifically, how to re-use existing machine-learned knowledge on a related task to solve it fast. Previously I've interned in research roles at big companies (AWS), start-ups (TieSet), and in adacemia.

Looking for research/engineering roles in industry in, or adjacent to, machine learning and controls.

Hi HN, I'm a software engineer that loves solving problems and making things efficient. I'm most proficient in JavaScript, but have some experience in Go and TypeScript as well, and am confident in my ability to pick up other languages quickly if needed.

Most recently, I built an open-source project called Fána, which is a feature flagging platform designed to be able to target specific users based on their attributes. While I worked on a bit of everything, I mainly spearheaded the development and design of the developer-facing pieces: the dashboard and SDKs. I also co-authored an extensive case study detailing the decisions and challenges that came during research and implementation, which can be found here: https://fana-io.github.io/case-study

I'm particularly fond of React, but am absolutely open to working on any part of the stack. Thanks for reading!
