Broad Institute - Cimini Lab | SWE | Onsite (Cambridge, Ma) | Full-time

https://cimini-lab.broadinstitute.org/

Our laboratory co-leads the newly established National Center for Open Bioimage Analysis, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Join our cross-functional, agile team spanning biology, computer science, and software engineering and help write and maintain open source, user-friendly applications to process and analyze biological images.

* You are experienced with contemporary programming, testing, and debugging techniques.

* You have working experience with modern web development paradigms, libraries, and tools.

* You have working experience in scientific programming.

* You have an interest in collaborating with machine learning experts to create tools for deep learning.

* You have outstanding personal initiative and communication skills; you will extensively collaborate with other software engineers as well as biologists.

About us: Our lab’s mission is to uncover biological knowledge by developing methods to mine the rich information present in images. We are best known for CellProfiler, used by scientists to quantify biological images and have recently launched Piximi, an images-to-discovery tool allowing users to train deep learning models in the browser. CellProfiler helped discover potential therapeutics for infectious diseases and cancers. We love working as a team towards scientific goals: discovering the inner workings of biological systems and influencing patient treatment. We are conscientious and enjoy a professional, no-fuss environment, and are passionate about what we do while frowning on workaholism.

If interested, please email ngogober@broadinstitute.org with a CV/Resume, and also describe your overall career interests, why this work would suit you, and what you would aim to learn.

Jefferson Lab | Newport News, Virginia | Full-time

My group at Jefferson Lab is hiring an entry-level software engineer. Jefferson Lab is a national lab in Newport News, Virginia, which specializes in experimental nuclear physics.

The main requirement is that you are familiar (and moderately productive!) with C++. You'd get to contribute to science and work with cutting edge physics simulations, neural nets, and GPUs. Note that this position is term-limited to one year, so it is ideal for a recent CS graduate or someone debating doing a PhD program.

We'd be particularly excited to talk to anyone who knows something about static or dynamic program analysis. Functional programming experience is also a plus.

Airtable | San Francisco/Mountain View CA; New York, NY; Austin TX; Seattle WA | Onsite | Software Engineer (many roles), Data Scientist, Designer, UX Researcher, SRE, IT System Engineer, Engineering Manager

Airtable's mission is to democratize software creation by enabling anyone to build tools that meet their unique needs. Unlike single-purpose apps, we think of Airtable as a toolkit of building blocks that people repurpose to create their own applications. The best-known part of our product is a real-time, collaborative database, but we have layered automations and user-defined interfaces on top of that foundation, enabling our users to create full-fledged applications on top of our platform.

To get a flavor of how we approach engineering problems, check out our recent blog post on how we used server-side rendered React to improve SEO: https://medium.com/airtable-eng/server-side-rendering-and-it...

We're hiring software engineers for web (JavaScript + TypeScript, Node, React), iOS (Objective-C, Swift), and Android, as well as data engineering, data science, SRE, and many other roles.

We're a team with diverse backgrounds. We believe in the power of highly motivated and capable individuals to accomplish great things in small teams, with end-to-end ownership of projects and rapid iteration.

Read about open positions and apply here: https://airtable.com/careers

[COVID-19: All employees are currently remote. Our offices are open, with safety protocols in place, as a completely optional workspace available to employees who prefer not to work at home for whatever reason. We expect to ramp up in-office work further later this year, with employee safety as the top priority.]

Drive Capital | Software Engineer, Data Scientist | Columbus, Ohio | ONSITE | Full-time

Come build the platform that powers Drive Capital as we invest $1B in startups between the coasts in the US and Canada. We've partnered with more than 70 startups so far. Some you might've heard of, like https://www.duolingo.com/ and https://greenlight.com/, and some you probably haven't, like https://www.koho.ca/ and https://www.path-robotics.com/. Who's next? That's partially up to you.

Our platform, affectionately called Herbie, surfaces promising startups to investors, makes connections to the next great customer, and helps recruit the most impactful team members. We replaced the traditional army of analysts by learning the business as engineers to build software instead.
