Ecosia | Frontend Engineer | ONSITE (Berlin) and REMOTE | Full-time/Part-time Ecosia, the search engine that plants trees, is one of the world's largest social businesses and the first B Corporation in Germany. As part of our mission to cultivate a more environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable world, we are planting and protecting forests by enabling people to channel their everyday actions into enviro…

Hey, I find Ecosia interesting and was thinking of applying but I’ll really be honest here: a 5 step interview for a below market pay (for what you’re asking of the ideal candidate) is really off putting. I’d personally be up for max one option between points 2, 3 or 4, less inclined to the take home assignment, which I assume is, of course, unpaid.

eQualitie | REMOTE | Multiple Roles

eQualitie works for digital freedom via a combination of technical services, infrastructure, educational trainings and hackathons in censorship-prone countries around the world. We are currently hiring for multiple positions:

1. CENO Chrome Extension Developer: https://equalit.ie/job-post/chrome-extension-developer-for-t...

eQualit.ie is seeking an experienced developer for the decentralized web who is motivated by FOSS solutions for defending freedom of expression and association online. The short contract is to create a Chrome extension that will replicate the functionality of CENO Browser on desktop environments. CENO (short for Censorship.no!) is a tool designed to circumvent the most repressive forms of Internet censorship and provide content distribution continuity during network shutdowns. Built on Mozilla for Android, CENO Browser utilizes the Ouinet library (also built by the eQualitie team) to retrieve and then share web content peer-to-peer over BitTorrent’s DHT.

Your responsibilities would include: * Research and development of a prototype Chrome extension for Ouinet, the peer-to-peer library powering CENO Browser; * Technical feasibility analysis and project roadmapping for future stable release; * Documenting work toward long-term maintenance and reproducibility.

2. iOS Developer for OuiSync + Briar: https://equalit.ie/job-post/ios-developer-for-the-decentrali...

Working within a tight-knit team on OuiSync, Briar and [potentially] CENO Browser, your responsibilities would include identifying, prototyping and documenting methods for an iOS app to achieve the following goals: * Discover and connect to nearby peers (iOS and Android) without needing internet access (e.g. Bluetooth, local multicast); * Investigate use of mDNS and DNS-SD on iOS and its interoperability with Android; * Investigate options for the app to run in the background under various networking conditions; * Sharing application data as files with other iOS applications.

Please share with your networks and feel free to email me privately if you have any questions. eQ is a remote-first organization. Please apply via the links above.

3. Regional Ambassadors for Deflect + CENO Browser: https://equalit.ie/job-post/regional-ambassadors-for-ceno-de...

We are looking for informed and motivated individuals to promote our tools and services to local media, civil society, democratic movements and activist organizations. You will help us define and lead outreach strategies in your country/ies of focus, offer onboarding support and help users coordinate with our helpdesks. In turn, you will receive training on the given tools and services. We are looking for regional ambassadors from the 2023 priority list (see bottom of the listing).

This is a Who is Hiring thread, not a Who Wants to be Hired thread, which is different.

I understand your point and would like to apologize, but at the same, I like to try unconventional ways to find a new position. Are you looking into hiring someone? > greenpeas: if everyone else will employ the same "unconventional ways" to search for jobs, these whoshiring threads will become useless. Let's all follow the rules. Can you point me to the rule? I haven't read anything covering that case... (I couldn't…

Read the actual post at the top, please. Among other things, it says:

> Please only post if you personally are part of the hiring company

It also includes links for people, like you, who are looking to be hired.

For our non-native english speakers out there. I presume they mean "weep for joy" which means to cry because you're so overwhelmingly happy. Not just "weep" xD

Sorry, I didn't know that the user "whoishiring" was setting rules. Why wouldn't it be Dang setting the rules?

No wonder everything is turning cloudy.

If Dang is setting the rules as stated below by dang himself, why isn't it listed in the official rules? (sorry again HN doesn't allow me to reply).

SmarterDx | 150 - 230K + equity + benefits | Remote first (but U.S. only due to data confidentiality) | Full time

We are a Seed stage health tech company using A.I. to improve hospital revenue cycle (making healthcare costs lower and allowing doctors to focus on patient care). The team is small but high functioning (M.D. data scientists, former ASF board member, Ebay fraud detection engineers, etc.) and initially scaled the company to $1MM+ in contracted revenue without raising capital. We have since deployed successfully and been backed by top investors including Floodgate (Lyft, Twitch, Twitter) and there is enough market demand for us to 10X in the next 18 months (plus runway through September 2024).

Who we are looking for:

- Full stack engineers

- Data engineers

Be part of the journey as we hone our PMF and build to scale! For more, see: https://smarterdx.com/positions.html
