August Health | (Senior) Backend Engineer | Distributed team (USA-based) | Full-time

A demographic "perfect storm" is brewing over the next 25 years: (1) the 80+ population will double to more than 30 million people, (2) the family caregiver ratio will almost cut in half (and is further hurt as more children move away from their parents), and (3) as life expectancy rises, people are living for years with complex health issues and disability.

And annual long term care costs are about $400 billion today. Our goal is to make a significant difference in care quality for elders and put a dent in healthcare costs in the country.

I’m a co-founder at August Health. We’re looking for engineers who: 1. Want to work on something that’s good for the world and 2. Care about engineering.

Right now we’re looking to hire an engineer to focus more on our backend APIs and infrastructure. We're using scala for those that like to search for keywords, but we don’t need you to have any experience with it, just ability to learn. You should have a few years experience under your belt. Email me: erez AT augusthealth.com

Prior to this, we cofounded and sold a big-data mapping company, Mapsense, to Apple. Our team of 9 has a strong technical background and also includes a physician with years of experience with geriatric patients. We are well capitalized with financing from tier-1 VCs.

We’re a fully distributed team, deliberate about building our culture, offer competitive comp/benefits, and like to think we’re a fun place to work!

Charge Robotics | Robotics Software Engineer | Full-time | Onsite | SF Bay Area

Hi HN! We’re a brand new startup building robots that build large-scale solar farms. It turns out that construction companies literally can't build solar fast enough, so what we're doing is a crucial part of switching the grid over to renewable generation. We're funded and are looking to bring two more talented software engineers onto our small team.

You’ll be a key contributor, helping bring our first prototype to life: an autonomous, 25,000 pound outdoor mobile robot. You’ll have the opportunity to work on every part of our robotics stack including localization, planning, perception, control, simulation, and more. You'll have a lot of input on which problems you decide to tackle.

Our founding team has experience growing companies and building robots like this. One of our founders was the second employee at a robotics startup that recently announced a $1.1B public offering.

Come work with us if you love:

* Fast-paced prototype development with software and hardware components

* Making a positive climate impact through your work

* Hacking on massive construction equipment!
