Anybody hiring remote disabled people? My company says I'm a piece of shit. Would be cool if anyone wants to hire me remote with low expectations for around $100k plus benefits.

You can greatly increase your chances of being hired by posting your résumé/CV, technologies, and email.

.001 vs .002 may double my chances, but I wouldn't call it a great increase.

Hi, my name is Alec and I build infrastructure and glue systems together. I'm currently employed as a senior software engineer at a bank. I have completed projects ranging from writing backend application code to building out idempotent infrastructure. I've worked with Linux-based distributions for over a decade and the past five years I've sunk my teeth into the DevOps space. I'm looking to branch out into more formal SRE roles as well. I've worked in the non-profit space in the past, so if you're a non-profit I'm particularly interested in discussing how I can contribute!

I am a seasoned (>10 years experience) full-stack principal software engineer and software manager specializing in the backend, platform engineering, internal tools, and data engineering. In addition to strong programming and architectural skills, I'm a force multiplier for any team through the three T's -- teaching, talking, and tooling.

In the past, I've led teams of up to 12, managed interview pipelines, pioneered a number of no- and low-code solutions for all of the following -- stream processing, data model, query generation, form building, workflow systems, and front-end construction -- for a variety of industries, including those with strong regulatory requirements and complex business rules such as healthcare and fintech.

More recently, I've built a no-code form-filler and a workflow engine for coordinating LLMs and other generative AI processes, and on top of this a platform for both minimizing hallucinations and working with documents that are far too large for existing context window outputs using a novel, patent-pending process.

I am also an improvisational pianist and distinguished poet.

I have extensive experience working for and running both startups and software consulting shops, which gives me a unique insight into speaking with customers, translating between engineering and other organizational departments, gathering requirements, and aligning stake-holders across departments. If any of the above seems like a match for you and your organization or project, don't hesitate to reach out.

What I deliver: I develop line of business applications for SMEs, using a stack based on either Go+PostgreSQL or Python+MySQL (client chooses), both on Linux only. Windows development costs more.

Depending on complexity, I usually complete straightforward apps in 4-6 weeks and charge ~5000USD once-off although I have done LoB apps for clients who want to pay small amounts monthly instead (SaaS syndrome).

I am able to charge so little due to my proprietary framework that allows rapid enhancements in a semi-low-code manner. My clients all get the full source to the web app with a non-redistribution license so the client is free to extend and enhance the product I deliver with no further involvement on my side.

My entire value proposition is solving business problems both quickly and cost effectively in an easily maintainable manner.

If you need a LoB app quickly and cheaply without compromising quality I can accommodate you.

See https://rundata.co.za for contact details and more information.

About me: I have been developing software professionally since the mid-90s, in finance and payments, scientific research, milspec and telecoms industries. I have been in embedded development for most of the past 25 years. I still occasionally do the odd ebpf work for specific clients but prefer to do LoB apps for SMEs due to the faster turnaround time.
