Re: Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? (September 2024)
#182I have been struggling with long covid for a bit over a year and I am looking for a lower stress work environment than amazon / big tech.
My resume is early career on paper yet I spent years obsessed with programming and side projects, exited masters program due to covid in 2020. I have strong fundamentals and am comfortable applying a from first principles approach.
Interested in psychology, history, design and soft sciences. Confident I can bring value to a team or org and open to casual chat to determine possibility of fit.

Hi I'm Elanora, I'm a fullstack engineer, currently redoing my personal site and relearning how to walk after a cycling injury lol. My favorite feeling in this industry is looking at something I contributed to and being proud enough to attempt to explain why it is cool to my non-technical friends and family. I like to bring that energy to every project I work on and team I work with. Feel free to email me or contact me on the LinkedIn linked in my resume.

I have 6+ years experience as an engineering leader and just under two decades in software in general. I have served engineering teams in a variety of industries like real-time video, email marketing, payments, and video games. As an engineer, I worked on platforms in video games, payments, and subscriptions.
Most recently, I was a manager for a real-time video platform that powered millions of minutes of calls and recordings every month. My two teams were responsible for the core media services, infrastructure and live-streaming.
I'm mix between manager and maker so if you're looking for someone with recent leadership experience or an engineer that could transition into a management role, then let's chat!
