I am a lead software engineer with over 20 years of experience in many different industries. Most recently I was the first then primary engineer leading a startup to a successful exit. I am a polyglot with experience in several languages - I am an expert in a language I would like to move away from. Most recently I have been focused on TS/JS but would be interested in just about any language; with a little time I can become proficient in any language, framework or paradigm. I am especially interested in typed and/or functional languages - I would love to write clojure professionally. I am most interested in backend positions, but I am experienced in frontend and devops. I may be interested in data science positions - I have a strong SQL and relational DB background. I have a lot more written about my background and outlook in my resume.

Looking for stability, good work life balance, and a remote first team with a problem worth solving that I can sink my teeth into and make a difference.

Hi all, Andrew here.

We are The Dev Team. A full stack team with deep expertise in data-driven applications, Machine Learning, Analytics, web apps, DevOps, Security, and best process practices.

We've been working together at various different companies in different combinations for over 6 years. We know each other, we know how to work together effectively, and we know each others' strengths and weaknesses.

This is not a traditional consulting company where you pay us by the hour and we move slowly to justify high bills. You pay us a flat rate, and we integrate deeply with your company for one year. We aren't limited by the scope of a single project, nor do we have to bow out of certain elements because they are difficult or uncomfortable.

The Dev Team is a new way of outsourcing your product development. We take on all the overhead of managing your team, from hiring and payroll, onboarding and off boarding, security training and compliance to project management and communication and the analytics that demonstrate our value to your company.

We've never tried this before. To be very clear about it, we're trying to find our first customer. We think that our best fit might be a new company that's a little light on dev resources and needs to ramp up quickly to achieve product market fit. We could also find a good fit in an existing company that already has a team in place but is looking for a rapid response team to iterate on ideas that might take too long to implement with the existing teams.

We work best with greenfield projects that we can set up with our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and application templates that we've developed over the course of years. At the end of the engagement, you retain all code and cloud resources. And if you are interested, we will assist you in hiring your own team to replace us.

This is a little bit wild, but we want to give it a try and see if there's any interest in this idea. Hit us up if you want to have a talk about the problems you have and the solutions we can bring. You get 5 developers with a variety of deep backgrounds dedicated to your problems with a combined 65+ years of experience. One of us will be the designated relationship manager so that you have a single point of contact for major inflection points, but all of us will be working together and with your company to solve your problems.

My work has mostly focused around the design, development, and support of databases. I'd like to continue this in the future but be able to branch out into a wider array of technologies and broaden my skillset. Working in an organization that faces unique challenges from operating at large scale is something I'm keen to be a part of.
