I'm an experienced generalist with a background in early-stage startup development across a range of product verticals. Most recently, I was the cofounder of a SaaS/e-commerce startup and I'm currently an associate at an early stage fund. I spent four years working as a marketing consultant helping companies to understand product-market fit, and helping to set up and model data in their CRM, marketing software, and CMS systems. I'm looking for mid-level product/marketing positions, particularly in SaaS/B2B/B2B2C, and ideally with a socially-impactful company.

I'm Jon Geiger—a full-stack developer, designer, and creative person with 15 years of experience building and nurturing web-based software. I was at Shopify from 2016–2022 as a tech lead of various production systems, a manager of teams, and primary on-call. I am open to all kinds of opportunities, but in the past I've loved SRE/on-call work, infrastructure engineering, and building internal tooling.

Most of my experience is working with React+TypeScript, especially for content-driven websites. My standout skills are in applying web fundamentals and reasoning around unorthodox stacks. My simple little portfolio can be found at https://rogermparent.dev. I'm currently doing contract work and I'm looking for a more consistent role, but I'm open to starting contract.

Technologies: Snail chaser :) Oh well, generalist, focusing on backend development, I have considerable experience on the Java, Microsoft C#/.NET stack, and AWS. I used to have a fair amount of experience on the frontend/JS in the past but now I prefer to stick to the backend, unless the role is managerial. See below for keywords and buzzwords.

I'm a mathematics researcher with software development experience, particularly in systems level programming on Linux. For the last five years, I was a math professor (postdoc at UT Austin and Florida State University), but now I want to switch to software engineering. As a mathematician, I'm used to independently solving difficult, often vaguely defined problems, and I really enjoy diving deep into some technical topic and learning lots of new things on the way.

Hence I'm most excited to work on software engineering problems with challenging technical/algorithmic aspects or performance/resource constraints, for example compilers, high performance computing, GPU computing, embedded systems, computer algebra, cryptography, formal verification, symbolic execution, computer security, etc. But I'm open for any opportunity where my skills could be useful!
