SEEKING WORK | REMOTE (Full/Part Time)

Technologies: Android, Flutter, React and Go

Résumé/CV: https://burhanrashid52.com

Email: burhanrashid5253@gmail.com

Github : https://github.com/burhanrashid52

My name is Burhanuddin Rashid, and I am a software engineer with 8+ years of experience in developing mobile applications. I am an open-source enthusiast and a Google Developer Expert in Dart and Flutter.

I owe most of my career to the open-source community. I got exposed to this when I open-sourced my first Android PhotoEditor library, which reached around 3.8K stars and is still active. This led me to an opportunity to speak at Droidcon Berlin 2021, sharing my open-source learnings.

Work-wise, currently, I am working remotely from SFO for a startup called Rock, which is a chat plus task management app. We are a remote-first company and building a product that allows users to work remotely in an asynchronous manner with fewer meetings.

My biggest contribution so far in the product was to improve code and app quality by introducing testing to the team.

Before that, I was the Android tech lead to build an offline-first app to manage package delivery with real-time location tracking, collaborating with a remote team. Apart from this, I've also worked on web and backend technologies like React and Spring Boot, which gives me additional knowledge of how the system works end-to-end.

Also, in my free time, I learn and share my knowledge by writing blogs, newsletters, Youtube videos, or speaking at conferences.

At my current job,

• I contributed to HP's factory diagnostic process by migrating the UEFI scripts to Python. This involved converting the NSH scripts from the Universal Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) language to Python, which allowed HP to benefit from Python's readability, flexibility, and portability.

• Additionally, I spearheaded the development of a powerful visualization tool designed to enhance the comprehension of the factory diagnostic process flow. Leveraging the capabilities of ReactJS and Python's Django framework, this tool enabled developers, TPMs, and other stakeholders to gain comprehensive insights into the various steps involved in the diagnostic process.

• Furthermore, I played a crucial role in the development and maintenance of HP's factory diagnostic software. My responsibilities encompassed writing and managing the software responsible for testing and troubleshooting HP products and writing the Business Logic. This software was built using C# and C++, both renowned for their ability to provide precise control over hardware, making them optimal choices for creating highly responsive applications.

• In addition to my technical contributions, I provided mentorship and leadership to a team of two individuals for the first project. This involved guiding them through the project's requirements, facilitating knowledge transfer, and ensuring the successful completion of their assigned tasks.

• Collaborated remotely with teammates from Taiwan, the US, and India to achieve project objectives.
