Bio: If there's a neat summary for a career that has included development on everything from original cancer research, companion interactive web experiences for live television, an in-browser user-generated content editor for a 3d javascript rendering engine, and editor tools for desktop live broadcasting software I have yet to find it.

Nearly 10 years of industry experience, primarily in the media and entertainment industries working on high-performance frontend experiences. As a senior SDE in the trust and safety space for the past year, I've spent that time working on system design and migration plans for legacy services which included tasks like rearchitecting core abstractions, schema migration from SQL to NoSQL while supporting existing application access patterns, etc.

Preference would be for opportunities in web application spaces doing novel things in the browser that would benefit from knowledge of browser internals and rendering, happy to chat about your company's product space and examples of problems your products are trying to solve.

I'm currently a Director at an Ed-Tech startup where I've been for the past nine years. I am interested in looking for either part-time or contract work. I'd be willing to discuss moving to full-time if the project seems interesting enough. I'm looking to move away from the management side of things and keep with the more hands-on work.

The current desired areas of interest for my next company are National security, Security (General), Climate Change, Agriculture, Automotive, and Robotics.

I enjoy the startup life so I would be perfectly fine with a pre-seed company. A big conglomerate could create interesting opportunities, so I wouldn't exclude that option either.

I love Python and have no real interest in using any other languages for full-time work.

I have no interest in anything `crypto' or `web3` related.

Hi, I’m Cameron. I’ve been programming for my own projects for 12 years, and professionally for four. I’m comfortable and experienced in teaching myself whatever I need to solve the problem in front of me, and a polyglot who’s tinkered with Python, Lua and a little Haskell and Racket in addition to the languages I’ve used professionally.

I previously worked as a backend developer for two and a half years on Bedful, a SaaS booking management system for campsites, and then for about six months as a full-stack developer at Hipcamp (Airbnb for camping) after that company was acquired.

I'm looking for an IC position working broadly on the backend, somewhere with interesting problems to solve and a culture that values potential and growth. Prefer working remotely and have experience collaborating across timezones from California to Canberra, but am open to hybrid with an office in London as well for the right opportunity.

Also open to freelance and contract work.

I am a software developer currently working in the telco industry, but I am eager to explore new opportunities and expand my horizons. Although my primary interests are in network programming and game development, I am open to other challenges if they give me an opportunity to grow and develop myself as a programmer. My interests are diverse, as showcased by my portfolio of personal projects, which can be found at https://theshoemaker.de/projects.

While I have enjoyed my time in telco and learned a lot, I am now seeking a role that allows me to focus more on the technical aspects of design and building systems. I am eager to work in an environment where I can collaborate with and learn from a team of highly skilled and motivated professionals, ideally working on a product that directly improves people's lives or brings them joy, instead of simply increasing shareholder value.
