Sourcegraph ( https://sourcegraph.com/ ) | Director of Product Design, SRE, Software Engineers, Director of Technical Writing, Product Designer | ALL REMOTE Sourcegraph is code search that helps developers find code and automate large-scale changes. Our mission is to make code accessible to everyone and bring the power of search to code. We’re doing this by building the Netscape and Google for the world of code—both…

My biggest endorsement of Sourcegraph is that on Sunday nights I look forward to getting back to it on Monday morning to work with my amazing team and solve hard problems. I struggled with Sunday scaries at my previous job and I've had nothing like that at Sourcegraph.

I highly encourage you to apply if you have even a passing interest in Sourcegraph. Check out our handbook (https://handbook.sourcegraph.com) where we answer most questions you'll have. Or send me an email and I'd gladly chat with you about the company and how we operate.

University of Chicago, Humanities Division | Software Engineer | Chicago or Remote USA | Full Time

The Humanities Division at the University of Chicago is looking for an engineer to build and maintain software for administrative web applications & misc faculty research projects.

We are a small (4-6 people) in-house software and support team that operates the entire stack (from the hardware up) and has long term personal relationships with our users. You'll get to make things that people you know use to make it easier to do their jobs. Because the team is small there is a variety of tasks (security, automated testing & deployment, performance tuning) so you won't be sitting in front of a ticket queue answering the same question all day.

Our stack is presently Ember.js / Ruby on Rails / Postgres / Ansible / Ubuntu and this position would have a significant role in making future choices in technology direction.

This is a full time position with excellent work/life balance (~37.5 hours, Central time zone, 6+ weeks of PTO/holidays). A nearly private office in Chicago is available (not cubicles/open plan) and hybrid or fully remote (USA) options are available.

Application & more details at: https://hum.uchicago.edu/software-engineer (or search for JR12754 at https://jobopportunities.uchicago.edu) and questions can be sent to my HN username @uchicago.edu

The University of Chicago is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity / Disabled / Veterans Employer.

SmarterDx | Lead Engineer | REMOTE (or NYC) | FT | https://www.smarterdx.com

U.S. health care organizations spent over $500 billion on revenue cycle in 2021 alone (generating receipts, bookkeeping, and getting paid / allocating payments). That's $500 billion that contributes zero value to patient care, education, research, or operations.

Most of that spending is on manual processing. We are a new company that aims to automate large portions of health care revenue cycle, starting with a niche area in physician documentation.

Although we are early (admittedly our website, etc. needs much work), we have bootstrapped to >$500K in revenue with zero capital expenses to date. We've demonstrated incredible marginal value against incumbent market leaders and are poised to grow quickly.

Our current stack is React, Next.js, GraphQL, Python, on AWS.

Salary + significant equity is available.

We're hiring for:

* Backend / Infrastructure Engineer

* Product Engineer / Full Stack Developer

* Frontend Engineer

* Business Development

Please reach out to mike (at) smarterdx (dot) com for a ten minute conversation!

Aquabyte | Remote (SF, NYC) and Norway | Full Time | Data Science, MechE, Embedded, Procurement, ML, AI, Computer Vision, Product, https://jobs.lever.co/aquabyte/

Aquabyte (https://www.aquabyte.ai, backed by NEA and Costanoa, top tier investors) is on a mission to revolutionize the ocean sustainability and efficiency of aquaculture. It is an audacious, and incredibly rewarding mission. By making fish farming cheaper and more viable than livestock production, we aim to mitigate one of the biggest causes of climate change and help prepare our planet for impending population growth. Aquaculture is the single fastest growing food-production sector in the world, and now is the time to define how technology is used to harvest the ocean for generations to come.

Through custom underwater cameras, computer vision, and machine learning we are able to quantify fish weights, detect sea lice infestations, and generate optimal feeding plans in real time. Our product operates at three levels: on-site hardware for image capture, cloud pipelines for data processing, and a user-facing web application. As a result, there are hundreds of moving pieces and no shortage of fascinating challenges across all levels of the stack.

If interested, please apply at https://jobs.lever.co/aquabyte/ or email: jobs@aquabyte.ai
