Willing to relocate: Yes - Only Los Angeles (previously lived), Seattle, or for a lucrative offer

Technologies: Clojure, ClojureScript, Python, Java, C++, C, Smalltalk, C#, Spark, Kafka, Django, Docker, Onyx, Hadoop, Map/Reduce, Neo4J, Redis, Memcached, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server, React, Game Engines, Distributed Systems, Functional Programming, Project Management, and more.

About: I have been in the industry full-time for 15+ years and have experience in a vast assortment of technologies. Further, I have worked for companies of all kinds, ranging from startups to consulting firms to government. Ideally, I am looking for a senior position focused on big data, back-end services, architecture, management, or anything focused on creating new technologies.

I am as comfortable writing prose as I am code, and I do not shy away from either. Finally, I prefer to use the best tools for the job, but if I am forced to choose favorites, I would be biased towards working with Clojure or another functional language.

I'd technically have 9 years experience, but I've been unemployed since the end of 2010 due to debilitating mental illness (OCD?). I never stopped programming, so I've managed to avoid becoming rusty.

Location: Austin, TX

Remote: Yes, with experience in remote projects.

Willing to relocate: For the right position.

Technologies: architecture, team lead, security processes, devops, particularly AWS-focused, full stack web application development, Node.js as a presently favored environment for rapid development, but recently hands on with Java, Scala, Ruby, Python, Elasticsearch, React development, WordPress (how did that even get in there?), VM provisioning, and all the other fun stuff that accumulates and then needs to be managed and improved.

Résumé/CV: On request. It is somewhat like having a rotary dial phone stashed away in a box because people ask to see it out of what I can only assume to be idle curiosity about how their ancestors used to live.

Email: reason -at- exratione -dot- com

Look at my blog, https://www.exratione.com for code, views, and examples of what I may or may not presently be working on.
