I'm a full stack/generalist looking for the next step on the ladder. On paper I've been a "Senior Software Engineer" for too many years. In practice I've been a micro-team technical lead and worked at a "Staff" level, just never got the title bump on paper. In graduate school I attempted a solo founder thing and they say that startup itch never entirely leaves you and there is a small part of me wondering if it is time to seek the right Technical Cofounder opportunity.

I've worked as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for over 12 years across startups, midsize, and FAANG companies with a focus on automating tests and processes which are often repetitively mundane or large time sinks. This ranges from writing said automated tests for web and mobile devices to the frameworks that run them. I also have experience in managing teams of people that take care of these tasks.

I enjoy the time saving nature of automation and have a genuine interest in maintaining a high degree of product quality. While my work has been SDET related up until now, I am open to developer roles as well since there is a high degree of overlap.

Engineering leader with nearly 20 years building teams that ship. Looking for Engineering Manager, Director, or VP roles.

Most recent: DevOps and Engineering Manager at Counterpart (insurance), where I led two full-stack teams plus DevOps and built an MCP infrastructure connecting GitHub, Linear, Salesforce, Snowflake, and Slack across the full insurance lifecycle. 15 years in tech doing a job that has a lot of names depending on the company — platform engineer, support engineer, internal developer advocate — but always the same core function: making sure the humans using internal infrastructure aren't left to figure it out alone. At Atlassian I was embedded with the security platform team, sitting in sprint planning, tracking support patterns, and making sure user pain shaped the roadmap rather than being tossed in the backlog pile. If your platform team is building great things that nobody can figure out how to use or troubleshoot, that's the problem I'm good at solving.
