Technologies: Ruby, Rust, C++, Erlang/Elixir, Nix

Résumé/CV: Available on request

Experience: 3 years Ruby on Rails

Hi! I'm Emrecan, a software developer with an unconventional background—I started with a bachelor's in Psychology before transitioning to software development six years ago. I spent three years as a Ruby developer in a fast-paced startup environment, where I built scalable web applications and worked across the stack.

In my free time, I design and implement a pure functional programming language using Rust, which keeps me engaged with language design, compilers, and type systems. I'm drawn to challenging technical problems and research-oriented projects—the kind with steep learning curves that push me to grow. If you're working on something intellectually stimulating beyond typical CRUD applications, I'd love to hear from you.

curious on what made you switch from webdev to embedded

I was never in webdev, per se. I switched from "fullstack" (which included backend+frontend as well as mobile/firmware/ML) to hardware eng at IBM, and then widened back out again to R&D Engineering at a startup to work on a patent. I had always wanted to be closer to hardware/embedded and anything that involves sensor-laden and/or RF-enabled systems so it was a natural progression for me.

I am a freelancer/contractor who specializes in developing augmented reality, spatial computing, and computer vision apps for iOS & visionOS. Several of my apps were handpicked and featured worldwide by Apple. I've worked with solo founders, startups that went on to get acquired (OpenAI, Shopify), and R&D teams at large corporations.

I've been doing backend work for the past 14 years, with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework. I'm intimately familiar with schema and data migrations, including migrations between Django projects. I've done a lot of full-stack work as well, with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and React.js. I've worked extensively with startups and I've worked with Twitter. I have a lot of experience working with distributed teams and am open to occasional travel. Available full (~32hrs) or part time. Interested in Python work or full-stack with Python.

Hello! I am a software engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, more than 10 years of experience and 10 professional certifications earned after a lot of study and hard work.

Up to anything, be it backend, frontend, blockchain, compilers, DevOps, embedded or mobile. Bonus point if there is a little bit of Rust involved.

If you are curious my greatest project is WTX, a fast WebSocket framework and Database client that gave me a lot of insights about performance and code architecture. See https://github.com/c410-f3r/wtx.

For more information, take a look at my CV (https://c410-f3r.github.io/curriculum.pdf).

Specifically looking for non-growth mindset, non-toxic, normal jobs. If you work weekends, please move along. If you grind people against each other in weird secretive stack ranking exercises, please also move along.

I'm nice, helpful, communicative, and open, and I would like to work in a place that expects that. Please.
