Have software you’re considering rewriting? Maybe it uses older tech. Maybe users like it but devs don’t want to touch it. Maybe you’re hoping all or some of it can be salvaged. A rewrite can be one of the most expensive and time consuming things your company will ever do. You owe it to yourself to get a second opinion.

I offer an independent, fixed price service where I assess your current solution, engage with your stakeholders, and present you with the best options going forward. This takes place over a 2-4 week period, after which you’ll be in a much better position to proceed. Or not, as the case may be.

Your software will not scare me. It will not affect me emotionally. I do not need specific technologies on my resume, and I do not need your devs to love me. My advice is impartial and based on pragmatic criteria, with your business goals as the number one priority.

So send me an email - tell me why you’re thinking of re-writing, what you hope it will solve, and what you foresee going wrong. I’ll give you an initial 30 minute consultation for free, and we can decide where to go from there.

I am a data scientist with good software engineering skills, and an aptitude for tasks centering around data and processes: automating business workflows or mining insights from a dataset.

I'm eight years into my career, and at the stage of looking for unique and interesting opportunities. If you're doing something cool and need a data literate technical person to help you with it, please reach out! I'll consider full time roles, but would prefer to take work on part time or freelancing basis.
