Rawa TV (https://rawa.tv) is a live streaming platform targeted for gamers across the Arab region. We are building the largest arab gaming community that will help gamers directly engage with each other and monetize their passion through our platform. We are backed by strong investors, close to 6 figures of users, growing at a rate of 400 new sign ups per day, and for our next phase of growth we are looking to increase our team with dedicated and talented people.

Work is 100% remote and we're shifting to async; some EU timezone overlap is recommended but not required. In the direct chain of command, everyone but the CEO comes with a strong tech background, so management does understand you. Being a startup, there is also no clear chain of command, but rather a mist.

# Full stack developer

As a professional full stack developer, you will take both frontend and backend tasks, but the ratio strongly favors backend. At the moment the code is v1.0, so not pretty, but a rewrite using proper microservices boundaries and clean architecture is on the horizon.

## Requirements

- Typescript (though good JS knowledge is enough) - Comfortable with relational databases (PostgreSQL & MySQL) - General AWS practice, more specific ECS, Lambdas, RDS Aurora - ReactJs

# React Native developer

At the moment our frontend is split into 3 independent projects, with independent developers: web, Android & iOS. We would like to unite all under one roof, and think React Native is up to the task. As a professional React Native developer, you will be tasked with taking the current project and rewriting it, with a focus on Android and iOS. A separate colleague will focus on web and backends integration, and it's expected that you will work together closely.

## Requirements

- React Native - Typescript - Expo - Typescript - Ability to copy-paste from StackOverflow when dealing with Android/iOS specific issues (some native knowledge heavily preferred). If you bought The Key, that's a bonus.

I'm a data engineer in a team of 7 from diverse backgrounds. We look after end-to-end analysis, testing, and production releases which can happen multiple times a day. We use Clojure, Kafka, and AWS as our main tools. We published some projects on GitHub https://github.com/VIOOH?q=&type=source and we plan to open source more including a build system (Clojure on AWS Lambdas with Slack integration), and a Terraform Kafka module. Our data infrastructure for production handles a daily average of 4 billions Kafka messages which are then made available in a data lake for reporting, analytics, fault-tolerance or replay. Users span across multiple markets all over the world, so you are going to love to see your work used at scale . We also work on providing high availability for our services and robust monitoring.

Monogon, a fully remote, self-funded and engineer-led technology company, is hiring software engineers to work on Metropolis, an open source [1], secure, distributed cluster operating system based on Linux and Kubernetes.

Metropolis runs on a fleet of bare metal or cloud machines and provides users with a hardened, production ready Kubernetes - without the overhead of traditional Linux distributions or configuration management systems. It does away with the scripting/YAML duct tape and configuration drift inherent to traditional deployments, and instead provides a stable, API-driven, secure and vendor-lock-in-free platform for companies to build their products upon.

We're looking for senior candidates who can design, implement and verify complex systems that will make up part of Metropolis. We offer a kind and honest work environment in which we prioritize quality over quantity. You'll be the fourth member of a team working on an ambitious, industry-challenging product.

Our ideal candidate is a generalist with deeper knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

- Distributed systems;

- Software engineering of systems built to last;

- Security engineering, especially experience with secure boot chains;

- Low-level programming and debugging (C, Linux Kernel, …);

- Kubernetes, especially practical experience of running bare-metal production deployments;

- Platform development, ie. running a 'Company A' style infrastructure/DevOps team [2].

Our codebase is mostly Go (including pid1!), so knowledge of the language is a plus, but not a requirement (given the seniority of the position, we expect any candidate to be able to ramp up on Go within a few weeks).
