Hi, we are a small group trying to bring the "trustworthy" feature back to tech. Curating and building a FOSS+ toolset, storefront, and eventually online service—all to support freedom, privacy, and informed consent—on device and on the net.

First off, you'll notice that you've not heard about this project before. Next, the message is a bit scattered, and the "programmer art," while arguably not horrible isn't winning any awards either, haha.

That's where you come in.

You are one of the few folks who really cares about this stuff, and also a graphic/product designer, or perhaps a digital marketer, communicator or "people whisperer." (Being in the EU would be helpful as well, to work from the digital sovereignty angle, though not required.)

Some of us are unemployed, don't have any money of note, and currently donating our time. Maybe you are too, or retired/cashed-out and bored. Consider this another FOSS-like project. We hope the store/service will make money, but we're not there yet.

We build a queryable context graph over enterprise data -- industrializing AI for customer success. We've built a federated query engine for agents, custom Go ML models (Markov chains, Genetic Pareto, process mining), and on-prem enterprise infra on a deterministically tested backend.

We're looking for a Principal Engineer with high abstract reasoning who thinks from first principles. You read papers to invent, model complex domains from scratch, and dive 5 layers deep to hunt down bottlenecks. You care deeply about clean software craft, deterministic testing, and customer-driven innovation. You welcome technical debate, stand by your ideas with reason, and use AI tools for real force multiplication (not slop!).

Go preferred, but strong systems engineering fundamentals matter most.

I just applied! I hadn't heard of Pomelo Care before, but reading about it has made me very excited. It seems like a company that is sincerely driven toward something profoundly good (and that has touched me personally, as a father of four).

You may not be aware but in the EU it’s now mandatory to provide a starting salary or range before interview. Technically you can comply by sending it via email, and not all countries within the EU are enforcing it yet, but given that literally the first requirement is “based in the EU”, it might look better if you include the range in the advert.

FWIW it is fair if they hire abroad.
