Like this Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so i am in the process to relocate to Africa.

While i could find a job elsewhere i believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location i am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.

I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and i am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.

I am also open to work for a company anywhere as long as the work can be done fully remote from Africa.

In addition, my plan is to hire local interns and junior developers and train them in order to pass on my experience. If you want to support this, i would love to work with you.

Hello everyone, I'm a software developer engineer currently working on embedded systems for autonomous vehicle applications. Before that I was an SDE for a startup developing an machine learning application, and before that a graduate student researcher working on the cybersecurity of industrial control systems.

I'm open to the right opportunity. What's the right opportunity? Something where I can learn new tech or my existing tools more deeply, become a better developer, and have a fun adventure. An adventurous role goes a long way for me. I'm open to onsite and remote, but a strong preference for remote. If it's onsite, I'd like to be in a more interesting city than the Metro Detroit area.

Résumé/CV: https://jordigh.com/resume.pdf

I'm a software developer/engineer with a mathematical background and over 15 years of software industry experience. My last few roles have been in observability, greenhouse gas accounting, and medical imaging. I have:

  * streamlined data pipelines,
  * taken full ownership of software stacks from the database, to the backend, frontend, and devops on AWS,
  * taken deep dives into many codebases to figure out what makes them tick and how I can modify, improve, or instrument them
I like solving tricky problems, mentoring others, and carefully documenting my processes. I can do low-level programming, as low as 6502 assembly if that's what it takes, to architect high-level cloud infrastructures. I can interface with ABIs as fluently as with APIs. I am native to the command line. Emacs is my religion, but as a general rule, I do not proselytise.
