A full-stack software engineer that overflows with curiosity. I am seeking a remote full-stack or backend role. I recently created Hypha, an open-source observability framework that makes debugging distributed systems easier by correlating logs and traces in a single tool. Read our technical case study here: hyphaobservability.com/case-study.

3+ years full stack Canadian developer looking for interesting challenges, preferably at fast-moving startups in the Bay Area. I can iterate rapidly on implementations to nail the best user experience. I used to develop retro games played by hundreds on my spare time, design sprites, and build maps —graphic design experience which gives me an edge at implementing pixel-perfect designs.

I used to worked on software powering taxes at the Canadian government in COBOL before deciding to focus on web and front-end. Before that, I worked at Nokia setting up network infrastructure. I recently worked at seed-stage startup Loot in San Jose and I have also been taking some time to travel and study during the pandemic.

# About Me:

Hi there!, I'm a hands-on highly technical executive in technology with more than 15 years of experience delivering software as cloud services in both leadership positions and as an individual contributor for a range of companies from start-up level to multinational. I have the ability to contribute in both the Technical and Business side of startup/product development. I've got experience running organizations spread through different countries, raising VC capital and board level interactions. I am most comfortable in companies that are between Series-A and Series-B stages.

My last 5 positions (at different companies): VP AI/ML, Lead Technical Architect, VP of Engineering, Director of Engineering, Sr Director of Engineering.

# What I am lookin for:

Mostly an interesting position either as IC or a leadership position. I have plenty of experience in FinTech, but I would love to explore other verticals. I am looking for a remote-only full time position that pays around $145,000 USD.

I like to participate in smallish startups (pre-Series C, with less than 100 employees) where things are fast and personal impact is really reflected.

# A word on remoting ...

Although I am not based in the US, I have had great success workin for US based startup through PEO companies such as via.work. or GlobalizationPartners. If necessary, I can help guiding the hiring company to set up the (easy) hiring process using these services.

PS. Feel free to email me to get my full info.
