Local Kitchens | San Francisco, CA / Remote (USTZ) | Full Stack Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Product Design Lead | https://jobs.lever.co/localfoodgroup/

Local Kitchens helps local restaurants expand to new cities across our network of micro food halls. We take a vertically-integrated approach - guests order through our app or using kiosks in-store, and we operate the kitchen ourselves with menus licensed from our restaurant partners.

Our team was on the founding team at DoorDash. We recently raised a Series A led by General Catalyst and angels like Tony Xu, Steph Curry, and Jack Dorsey.

We are hiring several roles in engineering, product, & design:

- Full Stack Engineer (Mid / Sr.)

- Staff Engineer

- Product Design Lead

- Analytics Engineer

- Product Lead / Head of Product

Our tech stack is TypeScript, React, and GraphQL. To find out more about our opportunities, visit: https://jobs.lever.co/localfoodgroup/ or email jordan@localfoodgroup.com.

Reserve | Remote | Full-time | https://reserve.org | BitTorrent meets CashApp, backed by Sam Altman and Peter Thiel

We help our customers cope with hyperinflation, capital controls, and discrimination from the global banking system. Our current customers are in Venezuela, Argentina, and Colombia and we have plans for eventual global expansion.

Our long term goal is to offer an alternate currency that is essentially a modernization of commodity money – a cryptocurrency 100% backed by a basket of low-volatility real-world assets. This would provide an alternative to USD that is actually stable enough to use as money. (No, BTC is not the answer. No, algorithmic stablecoins are not the answer. If you disagree, this is not the project for you.)

We’re open to team members from anywhere, with preference for the Americas due to timezones. We only recruit engineers with this HN post, and we hire about one engineer per month right now.

You can see our app in the first 15 mins of this video, and our bigger vision in the second 15 mins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbtS1d1U7bg

- We are recruiting a CSO and high-level security staff. Contact us directly [contact at reserve.org] if you are interested, as we don't have a public post for that role.

Qube Cinema | Backend and Frontend Engineer | REMOTE WORLDWIDE | Full-Time | https://www.qubecinema.com

Qube Cinema is a worldwide cinema company — I'm hiring for our distribution service, QubeWire.

Cinema distribution is a massive worldwide problem — the historic archive of movies runs into 10s of petabytes, and each high quality movie is mastered into 300+GB collection of assets, the whole of which needs to be distributed to tens of thousands of theatres over the span of a few days for every release.

Because each theatre has varying amounts of bandwidth and installed hardware, we either copy and ship drives, download to our local hardware if we have an installation there, or broadcast over a satellite with Raptor codes.

And before this we need to run a gigantic graph search to figure out a travelling salesman-ish problem — many different delivery options exist for each theatre, each with its own track of inventory, bandwidth and existing jobs. We need to figure out the global combination with the lowest total cost.

Sending the movies out is just the first part — we then need to send the decryption keys over, encrypted with the public key of the exact playback server that's going to be playing the movie (we're also tracking serial numbers and certificates for every playback device in every screen in every theatre in the world). That encryption happens inside a FIPS-140 certified HSM.

So lots to do. Mail me at sudhir.j@qubecinema.com if this sounds interesting. Will keep the interview process short and simple, even more so if you have any existing projects or work to show in one or more of Go, Ruby/Rails, NodeJS, React, AWS S3/DynamoDB/SNS/SQS/Fargate, Postgres, Redis and ElasticSearch.
