If you're still religious, and you think maybe you shouldn't be, read Critique of Religion and Philosophy by Walter Kaufmann. It cured me.

George Carlin's routine did that to me. I went from somewhat agnostic to full blown atheist in like 10 min. To not be off-topic, definitely don't waste your time on his books. They're pretty bad.

Carlin's hilarious, but it's all an act. Everyone in show business knows that and it's not something to base your life on. If you can find a better way to live, Jesus would be the first person to tell you to go for it. Jordan Peterson did a great series of Biblical lectures you can listen to them on YouTube or Podcast. They were incredible.

Earlier quoted context omitted.

Yes it is, you believe there isn’t a God if you’re an atheist. At this time there isn’t a way to prove there isn’t a God.

Proof of absence is not required for lack of belief, and lack of belief in any god makes me an atheist [1]. There's nothing faith-based about it. There are millions of other things I don't believe in too; it's the default position in many cases. [1] That's the definition: "a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods" - https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/atheist

I'd argue that it is still a statement of faith.
