I switched from Raindrop to Linkwarden. The reading/annotation is not as smooth but I don't really use it for that. It's self hostable and has integration with floccus for bookmark syncing with a browser.
Does it support tagging?
I hate the fact that I am not able to self-host Firefox Sync.
I sometimes describe Instapaper as "/dev/null for web content". I reflexively share to Instapaper not to read it later, but to absolve guilt for not reading it at all. Mostly it just lets you apply any arbitrary number of tags to a link and the groups then together. The other key was building a bookmarklet to make saving them easy.
I don’t plan on monetizing it or really adding that many new features, but it’s worked great for me for a few years now.
