DRW Trading | Senior Software Engineer (TypeScript/JavaScript) | Hybrid (remote/Chicago)

We're a very small team (4 engineers) who maintain a web-based GUI and middleware stack used internally by traders. The number of users has been steadily increasing for several years, and we're looking for some help building out new features, maintaining the current system, and working toward the next generation of the system.

Code base is currently all in TypeScript, though we're looking to begin using Rust for more performance critical parts of the code.

Competitive pay Good work-life-balance (especially for a fintech company) Position is primarily remote, but will require working from Chicago office occasionally, especially while onboarding.

Trunk is an a16z funded dev tools startup, redefining software development at scale. We aim to flatten the lost productivity curve that software projects suffer as they grow in scale and complexity. When a majority of your engineer's time is not spent on actual engineering, when the tax paid to land a new Pull Request is greater than the time to write the code - it's time for a new approach. In 2022, we raised a $25M Series A led by Initialized Capital (Garry Tan) and a16z (Peter Levine), with investments from Haystack Ventures, Garage VC, Tom Preston Warner (Founder/CEO of GitHub), Geoff Schmidt (Founder/CEO Apollo GraphQL), Nicolas Dessaigne (Founder/CEO Algolia), and Oleg Rognysky (Founder/CEO Peopl.ai).

Our tech stack Frontend: Typescript, React, Next.js Backend: Typescript, Node, AWS, CDK, k8s, gRPC Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Kiali, Jaeger CLI/Daemon/LSP: C++20, some Rust, Bazel VSCode Extension: Typescript CI/CD: GitHub Actions General: GitHub, Slack, Linear, Slite

We're currently hiring for a Sr C++ Engineer and Full Stack Engineers of all levels. Can work fully remote or in office in SF, unlimited PTO, competitive salary and equity packages! Please apply here: https://trunk.io/jobs
