  Desired position: Senior Developer/Engineering Manager/Software Architect
I have been employed in software development for almost 10 years and have written code for significantly longer. I am a deep specialist in databases and a good generalist in most other areas. I built myself as a T-shaped developer. I have worked databases, back-end, front-end (web and native, mobile and desktop) and testing throughout my time. With databases, I have experience with everything from relational algebra theory (I studied C.J. Date) to database design and normalization to query, procedure and index optimization. Throughout my career, I have developed a systemic viewpoint and an ability to understand how different components of a project and different teams interact together, all in order to walk the path of technical leadership. As a true engineer, I understand the importance of measuring before changing. Also, I am a sociable person and I have a teaching degree and have taught on numerous occasions with excellent results. Currently I am learning Solidity.

Due to my experience, I am currently aiming for a software architect/engineering manager/team lead role, or a role with growth opportunities toward a similar tech leadership position, a position in which I can grow and polish the skills of colleagues. Hello! I am looking for a junior software-engineering role. I have about 3 years of experience in full-stack web development and am particularly comfortable with JavaScript-based environments.

I prefer working in organisations that do not produce negative social impacts. I am looking for stability and would very much appreciate resources for personal development, ongoing interesting problems to solve, mentorship, and a pathway for growth.

  - I have basic knowledge of Python, some machine learning frameworks, and SQL. Currently learning Rust — just mentioning in case there is an off chance that I could learn on the job.
  - I have a background in chemistry and I recently did some applied machine learning work for about a year. For these reasons, I would happily work in data and/or research-related roles, too.
  - I am self-taught. I’m only noting this because some people prefer knowing that up-front. I don’t just “write code that works” and forget about it.

I recently graduated with an MSc. in CS from Reykjavík University (also have a BSc in CS from there), my thesis was on validating a sleep spindle detection algorithm. This summer I've been interning at an ML firm in Italy that works in production line optimization, where I wrote a code-generation tool built on templating, which has been integrated into production.

As my internship is ending, I'm looking for a full-time position.
