I'm changing careers from being a music teacher to becoming a Backend Developer, and I'm hoping to find a full-time remote job. I've spent most of this year heads down in a book and my Macbook. I've learned dozens of technologies, and it's been quite the whirlwind of knowledge gaining. I've taken 8 courses, 3 books, and numerous articles and tutorials. I won't go into detail about everything on my [resume](https://ashley.boehs.com), but suffice it to say it was a bit of frontend, DevOps, and a LOT of backend. What I've learned could be used well, especially around Rails and Stimulus.

Hello. I'm Aaron. As a creative, out of the box thinker, I create solid reliable solutions for the problems Your Organization has. I'm a team oriented self-motivated architect and engineer who loves working with people, and on challenging, interesting, or meaningful problems. In my career I've: developed software for multi-million dollar production lines down to handheld scanners, written software to produce radioactive drugs for over 2.2 million patients, crafted computer vision software to produce and qualify billions of products, designed a dual syntax programming language for nuclear scientists, co-created a custom virtual machine byte code, designed and implemented my own asynchronous network and intra-process messaging library, ran my own game development studio, reversed engineered x86 assembly, designed and created a mobile user interface implementation from scratch, and much more!

I'd be happy to discuss how my skill set could apply to the problems you need to solve.

I'm interested in a job working on any of the following: User Interface Development/Design, Aerospace, Robotics, Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Industrial Automation, AI, Programming Language Development, Scientific Research, Genetic Engineering, Biotechnology, Astronomy, Game Development (not gambling), Rendering (2D and 3D), Virtual Reality, 3D Printing, IoT, or similar areas of work.

    Location: UK
Remote: Yes, exclusively for day to day
    Willing to relocate: No
Technologies: Python/Terraform/SQL/AWS mainly, but not tied to anything

In my current role I've drifted towards infrastructure - including performance, database queries, APIs, and have spent a lot of time trying to ensure statistical correctness (data analytics app) and on scaling data ingestion as we've grown.

Professionally I've mostly used Python and Terraform, but I joined a small full-stack team (JS/Vue too), and enjoy using TS/Svelte and Rust in some hobby projects, as well as Go for Terraform providers in particular. Happy working with any appropriate tool.

I enjoy the opportunity to learn about a new domain/industry, and understand that software doesn't operate in a silo. I like to take the time to understand a problem and build correct robust software, but I'm also well-acquainted with firefighting and can be scrappy when it's called for.

Recruiters: please don't contact me with non-specific opportunities. Thanks!

My most recent job was teaching/mentoring web development at a tertiary education provider. But now I'm looking to get more hands on again as I have missed coding. Nearly 10 years experience in the industry across a number of fields. I'm enthusiastic and always looking to learn. Let's grab a coffee!

Technologies: Unity, Godot, Unreal. Game engines... I'm an indie game dev! Have been for more than 5 years. Surely there are more of us on this site :-) My special interests are graphics and gameplay, but I've also created custom networking, pathfinding, physics, and procedural animation.
