SEEKING WORK - Remote, US-based

Remote: Yes (have worked exclusively remotely for past 10 years)

Willing to relocate: No

I've been doing full-stack work for the past 10 years, with Python and Django on the back-end and HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery on the front-end. I've also worked with the Django REST Framework and React.js. I'm intimately familiar with schema and data migrations, including migrations between Django projects. I've worked extensively with startups and I've worked with Twitter. I have a lot of experience working with distributed teams and am open to occasional travel. Available full (~32hrs) or part time. Interested in Python work or full-stack with Python.

SEEKING FREELANCER | EU based | Worldwide | Remote

Seeking freelancer(s) for project-based work, to offload some workload. Mainly creating backend, system / embedded, small to medium, semi-independent components for the railway industry.

While all components should be non-safety-critical, for practical reasons, code should predominantly be obviously correct. Also reasonably readable, understandable and simple.

We do not have interest, time (or funds) for extensive debugging sessions or repeatedly repairing SW and consider it irresponsible (spoken as a SW developer). We would rather make something that just works and would expect the same from you.

Preferred languages would be Haskell or Rust, with sparing and judicious use of advanced features. Other languages and tools are acceptable if appropriate.

Compensation would hopefully be reasonable, though probably not appropriate for SV and HCOL areas, unless you're unusually productive.

It you're interested in this type of development, you can email me at labawi [at] fastmail.com.
