The other disconnect is that they can do their work in 30-60 minute bursts (meetings). We cannot. Some things require multiple hours of uninterrupted concentration and if my calendar looks like someone fired a shotgun filled with 30 minute meetings at it, I can't achieve that.
I sometimes feel like I'm trying to squeeze "real work" in between meetings and other interruptions. It's almost absurd.
I've done tons of work during meetings. Only need to listen like 4% of the time.
