It's my opinion that posts like this ruin these discussions and more generally are what ruins forums as they grow in size. Above a certain size you get people who think they and their agenda is more important than the actual topic and the noise drown out the good that the forum is trying to do. I don't see a solution for public forums, but it's sad to see it happening.
Hear, hear. It's not just forums, it's basically all forms of civil society these days. Organizations of all stripe get drown in activists. Always marching through the institutions.
Enforcing the law is “activism” now? Does that make police activists as well?

Evertas is the world's first cryptoasset insurance company. We're a Bermuda carrier, Lloyd's of London cover-holder, and have been around for almost 5 years. We write real policies which actually cover significant risk for clients, quantify premiums based on the effectiveness of deployed controls, and do professional services for clients to put better controls in place (or helping other insurance companies with underwriting and claims adjustments).
The best pitch for the company is: Join us to prevent the next SBF/FTX/3AC/Luna/Celsius... meltdown, by providing tools for the industry to police itself, provide meaningful risk transference, ensure best practices are documented and commercially required, and avoid uninformed and unproductive government regulatory retaliation instead of meaningful public/private beneficial governance -- and make a bunch of money for everyone while doing so.
(I'm Chief Security Officer; have been involved in crypto since the 1990s (blinded tokens), and I love insurance as a powerful tool to improve security across the industry. The rest of the team are also cryptocurrency and security OGs, with industry and institutional experience.)
Among other roles, we're looking to hire 1-2 Security Engineers. Primarily this is for underwriting and professional services in the cryptocurrency space, as well as research into risks in the space (and mitigations). A great thing about insurance is it's not "call in the middle of the night over a holiday with a crisis", but solving things prospectively for clients, but still having significant and meaningful impact.
We're open to security experts moving into cryptocurrency, or cryptocurrency experts moving into security, but obviously having interest in both is key (and expertise in both would be amazing). We highly value professionalism, integrity, and a problem-solving nature. Would be very interested in people who currently or recently worked at downsizing, technically excellent security teams in the crypto industry or in security-critical adjacent industries.

allocortech is a small company (14 people) building control electronics for, typically, unmanned electric aircraft and watercraft. Think motor controllers, battery management systems, and communication hubs. We do both commercial off the shelf sales and custom designs on request; which ultimately means that there is a lot of variety in the month to month projects.
Our vision is to have qualified hardware devices that our customers are free to build their software and vehicles on top of. We provide the initial know-how for robust, redundant, safety critical, and certified software development and have a framework they can leverage if they choose to do so. Ideally this means less re-inventing the wheel for them and more chance of their success.
We're searching for
* A software engineer competent in C and/or C++ with big bonus points for experience in writing device drivers and other low level hardware abstraction layers.
* An electrical engineer to help us do schematic capture and board layout. Bonus points if you've worked with or better: 6+ layer boards, 4/4mil rules, moderate pitch BGA (0.65mm), and have done signal integrity (less than 1GHz) or power domain analysis work.
We're hardware focused and haven't figured out a way to allow 100% remote; but if you come with ideas on how to make it work, we can figure something out. Otherwise we're happy to pay relocation costs and allow 50/50 time splits.
$80~150k full time + options based on experience. We deal with ITAR, so unfortunately US residents, green card holders, asylee or refugees only.

Companies with fewer than 15 employers are exempt so it might not apply to all California based startups, but I already see multiple job postings here for larger companies which are clearly violating this new law.
