Why hire me: 6 years IT experience working with Unix and Windows based systems, Self taught entry level programming and
scripting. I am super passionate about Unix based systems specifically OpenBSD and FreeBSD. I love learning new
technologies but see the extreme value in the long term projects that have been around almost longer than I've been
alive. Young guy looking to learn, grow, and gain experience from others in the industry. Willing to accept when I
am wrong.
Why not to hire me: Looking for a person that has been in the industry for over 7 years. You want a manager. Looking for someone a DBA.Re: Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? (May 2021)

My name is Matías, I am a Computer Engineer from Montevideo, Uruguay. Seven years of experience as a Cybersecurity Consultant have given me the opportunity to work directly with many clients in various industries (banking, financial, government, healthcare) across Latin America.
I come from a small team (8-10 people) so I've had to wear many hats and become a jack of all trades. I've worked with several technologies in projects ranging from Penetration Testing to Compliance, Security Monitoring, Incident Response and other security services. I've also been involved in training, sales, writing proposals, reports, manuals and technical papers, both in Spanish and English. For the last years I've specialized in Security Monitoring, Networking, Infrastructure, System Administration, Threat Detection & Response.
I’m currently learning more about SecOps/DevSecOps, I have recently certified in Kubernetes (CKA+CKS) and am now looking at Terraform. I’ve also taken my first AWS certification (CCP) and I plan to continue in that direction. Apart from specific technologies, I’m planning on taking the Certified DevSecOps Professional training program for a broader vendor-neutral point of view.
I am looking to work in an innovative team, where I can learn new things every day. I'm currently looking for a job that allows me to continue developing my technical skills, continuing my transition from generalist to specialist.

I'm a generalist with a unique mix of skills - I’m a Full Stack Web Developer with an eye for product design, while also being fairly competent at technical writing. I have been involved with open source for the last year, and a lot of my work is available publicly: https://www.gethalfmoon.com (I built the project, wrote the docs, and I'm currently maintaining it). Recently, I have more available hours to work, which is why I am posting this. However, I'm open to discuss employs of all sorts: full-time, part-time, project, freelance, etc.
