#12I am building something of my own as well. Though some people are calling my idea useless, others are saying its worth it. I have finally decided even if no-one uses it I will pursue it and complete it no matter what.
I believe building your own thing not only teach you technically, but you also make valuable connections, and other non-technical skills.
I am really motivated after reading your post. I hope one day I can get paying customers too :)

yes. I totally agree with this. Every successful startups has multiple failure iteration in the past.
Success at first attempt is rare. My original question was around when you decide to pursue one of your idea fulltime. It could be 1, 2, 3rd attempt but at some point, we only have 2 option. Quit or next iteration

#14I've been thinking about starting a business for a while now, but I haven't come up with a really good idea for a great app yet. I'm currently doing a lot of reading and trying to figure out what the market needs. Maybe that will spark the crucial idea. Best regards

Being in the same boat, I'm waiting for more external feedback and interest, or ideally some customers, before calling it on the day job. Doesn't mean this fits everyone's situation, but just how I'm thinking about it.

I started selling crackers and coffee with my wife, until a mentor told me what a fucking idiot I was not doing apps.
