Because my lack of experience in the subject matter, I'm afraid I can't be more specific rather can only speculate. AOT sounds great but what matters to me is that I cannot afford a Windows machine. For me, developer tooling must be first class citizen on Mac and Linux, equally. I'm not up to date on that either.
I think on that front you would be fine too, they have a decent cli which also runs on Linux. You can use VS Code for editing or jetbrains rider ide.
