I have, but it was years ago when just beginning to learn to code. It was like drifting over a giant scrolling text file filled with code. Kind of like a huge syntax-highlighted version of the Star Wars scroll. Not fun. Would not recommend.

I have re-occuring dreams that I am coding programs for DOS in Pascal or Assembler. I cannot make out any of the code. I have never written a program in Pascal in my entire life.

Now this is crazy. What do you think this means? Assuming you were born in 73, maybe you were an early adopter in a previous life lol

A few times, but it was less about the code but more about the “head space” I’m in when I’m coding. I felt like I was programming my brain and I woke up exhausted each time.

Have any of these been tangibly productive towards solving problems in the projects you were working on at the time?

Nothing that I would attribute to the dream itself. I usually have very vivid dreams with internal consistency and story lines (which I’ve learned over the years is very unusual). So that kind of dream is very unusual for me. I turn my dreams into short stories under a pen name. I’ve published a couple on my blog.
