Winterlight Labs | Toronto, Canada | Full-Time, Remote-OK | https://winterlightlabs.com/

We analyse the acoustics and content of speech and language to help identify disease and quantify its severity.

We work with life science companies, academia, and senior care companies to improve clinical trials, quality of care, and health outcomes. We're serious about doing this well; we've published a lot of research on how to use speech biomarkers to identify disease[0].

Our software development team is ~8 people and likely to grow substantially in 2022. We primarily work remotely, but everyone is within travel distance of our Toronto office. We plan to offer hybrid in-person + remote for the foreseeable future. We mostly work in Python (Flask+SQLAlchemy), Node, ES6, TypeScript, React + React Native.

We're hiring for a few software development roles now (backend, frontend, full-stack, devops) [1].

In the last couple of months, developers on our team have:

- Designed and implemented new speech features in multiple non-English languages

- Supported our ML and clinical researchers in publishing high-impact research

- Built tools that our clinical operations team uses to support many large, later-stage clinical trials

- Improved the feature pipeline that versions and recomputes hundreds of speech features from all of our data whenever we make a meaningful change

- Built an API (closed beta right now) to power apps that detect and monitor neurodegenerative or psychiatric disease symptoms[2].

Email me (debo@winterlightlabs.com [3]) if you'd like to chat further, even if you're just curious about what we do. We like meeting new people! You can also get us at careers@winterlightlabs.com.

Montauk Labs | Full-time | Anywhere in USA | Backend, Front-End Engineers

We are a new venture studio from a team with a successful track record (most recently Moat’s exit to Oracle). We aim to build the next generation of tools to measure innovation. The first versions of this will connect to any Git repo and tie DORA, SPACE, and other DevOps efficiency metrics to product usage, time to value added, and new metrics that we don’t know yet.

We are looking for experienced Backend and Front-end Engineers with background in CI/CD, Cloud Microservices, and APIs. As an early employee and part of our startup’s core team, you will have a huge impact in shaping/creating the tech stack, engineering practices, company culture, and hiring. We place a high value on a learner's mindset and the willingness to look at problems from a fresh perspective.
