How we buy goods is shifting it's reorganizing from around the automobile to around the smartphone and desktop. Sock Club has grown organically from a D2C e-commerce brand to a custom socks manufacturer and now to service and design focused e-commerce experience. We are targeting the huge dinosaur industry of corporate gifts and promotional products. It’s an industry where service and design can separate us from other companies and where behemoths like Amazon can’t compete. We already have a service and design team that delivers a high quality experience to our clients. We are building a development core to build a web experience and software tools to make it so that team (staying the same size) can deliver the same experience to 10x the number of clients. The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is an agency within the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and is the nation’s financial intelligence unit, at the forefront in preventing and detecting terrorist financing, money laundering, and other financial crime. FinCEN’s Global Investigations Division (GID) uses all-source intelligence to conduct investigations of foreign entities, jurisdictions, classes of transactions and types of accounts to identify those that pose a money laundering threat to the U.S. financial system, and then takes action to neutralize those threats.

We're looking for a mission-driven data scientist with solid leadership skills to serve as the Office Director for GID’s new Office of Data Forensics. Consisting of a team of data scientists, the office will help GID organize large sets of transactional data and other information, develop tools to identify illicit finance typologies and actors from that data, and work with investigators to obtain the evidence necessary to support GID’s actions. We hire folks from all walks of life who are self-starters and have demonstrable experience tackling complicated problems in the public, private, or non-profit sectors.

With regard to remote work during the pandemic, health and safety are our top priority for all employees. Except when necessary to access classified information, everyone is currently working remotely. There is no specific timeline to return onsite yet.

The Stanford Research Computing Center (SRCC) is a dynamic and fast-paced team that delivers research computing and data (RCD) services to Stanford's diverse research community of faculty, postdoctoral scholars, students and staff.

We're hiring a storage administrator to work on Lustre-based storage for our ever-growing HPC systems.

In this role, you will:

* Perform day-to-day operations to ensure continuous operation of petabyte-scale on-prem research storage systems. This includes provisioning storage for researchers; collaborating with a wide range of research projects through support requests; handling change requests; and monitoring system health and performance

* Diagnose and repair software/hardware failures

* Develop training materials for and conduct sessions on efficient use of SRCC storage resources

* Find ways to optimize data transfers by working with researchers to understand their specific data workflows We're looking for someone with proven skills in Linux who would like to evolve and enter the world of HPC and parallel filesystems in particular.
