I graduated from U.C. Berkeley with High Honors in Mathematics and Honors in Computer Science.

I've worked on 100s of successful projects for Rockwell, Northrop Grumman, Adobe, Motorola, the DTIC, UK-NCIS, and many others. I was the sole software developer one year for 50% of the U.S. Vote and did the initial draft of one of Adobe's printer protocols. I've worked on my own Linux distro for 25 years and have patched and built 1,000s of FOSS packages in the process.

I can handle an unusually wide range of work as the resume shows. I've done everything from anti-terrorism and fighter jet database appliances to webdev, technical writing, fraud detection, and restructuring one mid-size corporation.

In my most recent role, discussed in the PDF, I had a patch to Linux kernel 5.18 accepted (https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/CAJZ5v0jzzwLCo5=TAntL7_GW_VO=rW...). It was a minor patch but made it possible for the project to support vanilla kernels.

I'm looking for 1099 work. I don't mind junior roles and/or "fill in the gaps" tasks.

Hi, I’m a full stack software engineer who loves working with a team and is passionate about fighting climate change. I'm looking to work in either a full stack, backend, or data engineering role. I'm only considering climate tech companies, tech companies that are in the business of social good, or a company that addresses their climate impacts.

I just built an open-source feature flag management and A/B testing platform called Waypost that is a good demonstration of my skills. Feel free to checkout our case study to see what I can bring to the table. https://waypost-io.github.io/

Resume/CV: github.com/eatonphil, github.com/multiprocessio, notes.eatonphil.com, datastation.multiprocess.io/blog

Email: phil@multiprocess.io

Hey! I'm a dev/manager with 10 years of experience. Most recently I was a manager at Oracle and before that a manager at an early stage startup. I quit a year ago and I've been building open source data devtools on my own (github.com/multiprocessio). I've attracted and managed a number of open-source contributors here. The major project, DataStation, I started last June and now has 1.5k stars, 2500 downloads, ~500 users per month (and growing), and around 50-70 pretty active users per month (and growing). An offshoot CLI, dsq, has 1.9k stars and somewhere around 2000 downloads.

Separately, I write a lot about implementing and evaluating databases, compilers, emulators and so on at notes.eatonphil.com.

A number of my personal and Multiprocess blog posts have been on the front of HN, 7 this year to date. 10 in total last year.

I am not sure what I'm looking for yet but if nothing works out/seems interesting my plan is either to keep working on Multiprocess stuff and bootstrap or get funding, or join a public company again.

I'm open to contract work or part-time work at smaller companies. And definitely interested in anything along the lines of compilers or databases.
