Hardly anything worthwhile, like paper straws, those are the kind of feel good measures, while the planet gets destroyed via wars, depletion of resources, wild construction, fires actually started by pyromanics and speculation for burned wood and construction sites, all everything else destroying Earth thanks to greed of a few in detriment of everyone else.

This paper straw thing is the dumbest take of them all. It's about reducing plastic waste (which is equally important) and has nothing to do with climate change. I have no clue how people can repeat it, as it has no obvious relation to each other?

China is also 10 times the size of those countries put together. So they're about equally responsible. China also makes most of the world's solar panels, EVs, and batteries.

Probably because both go together, and it has hardly changed anything when everything else keeps using plastic, a I feel good measure.

Since rice alone is more than 33% of farming methane, I’d wager not that high a percentage actually.

The thing is, as you can see from the data, it’d reduce methane and co2, but not substantially.

Bottom line is that there is too much heavy industry, too much oil, gas and coal, and too many people.

The problem isn’t me eating meat. It’s 9 billion people eating anything.

A bit of pollutants would go down, but cow farming isn't a one way street as their manure is also a potent fertilizer and they primarily eat legumes that fixate nitrogen or unmanaged grass and neither use pesticides.

The UK has more than halved its carbon emissions since 1990 despite a growing population.

How do you figure? The same logistics lines that carry animal feed and then the animal can just carry the ~animal~ human feed directly to the consumer. Sure, the animals starve to death, but it's just a silly hypothetical.

It takes 1000 calories of feed to make 100 calories of animal protein. While the type of animal feed is not what humans probably want to eat, the calories already exist today. Without livestock, there would be a huge surplus of available food.

Wikipedia[0] Says that US directs 4345 million bushels of just corn to livestock feed. Which would be ~13 bushels or 330kg per American.
