Isn't this a plateaued market? Amazon, Google, and Apple are already entrenched in the space. It's not like any of them have toxic brands like Oracle where everyone is dying to free themselves. Most people are happy with their products. This seems like a tough move...

Judging by how much effort Apple puts into its speakers it isn't a large market, probably not even on the scale of their headphones.

Between Apple's poor quality AI, Amazon continually trying to sell you more stuff and Google flogging your attention to every corporation out there I'm surprised anybody buys these products anymore.

1. You can't just press a button on your phone to instantly start an ai voice conversation 2. You can't bring your smart speakers with you everywhere, also same as 1 3. See 1 and 2

I'm sorry but that is just not correct. Androids and iPhones both have a way to start chats with their ai assistant from a hardware button or even always-on listening. My airpods, sony, and even my cheapest amazon bluetooth headphones all have a button to tap or hold that allows ai voice conversation to start. Even my Sonos and not very smart JBL speakers for beach days have the option to start an ai voice conversation and most home-based smart speakers include a listen word that doesn't even require a button.

Siri has a chatgpt link currently and is being connected to Gemini next month. What is the value of an extra piece of hardware on top of that?
